The truth about Sri Lankan street dogs

The WECare Worldwide charity was set up by Janey (seen around 40 seconds into the video) she was actually my local VET and an incredibly skilled surgeon, she saved my dog's life when he had a spleen the size of a football, he has since passed but it got me 2 more years I would not have got otherwise and I was told later by her boss that she was probably the only one that could have done what she did due to the severity.

So I do what I can to support them both financially and through spreading the word, even if you are not that interested in watching the whole thing, it is kind of a hard watch, after all, I would appreciate it if you left it playing on loop for a little while when possible or even just once to help it get picked up more by the youtube algorithm and give it a thumbs up and if you can share on social media please do.

Left in general despite being offtopic for exposure.

Cheers.

Ant.

If the text is below the emoticons, posting still didn't work for me. But if the text is above the emoticons, the post works.

I just wanted to give some support to the dogs and to the people who are trying to help them. +1 watcher. Thanks for the post, @AnthonySmith

Thanks for posting. A part of my dog walk routine is to feed the dogs in the neighbourhood. Where we lived earlier bit was about 20 odd dogs, now the number is 7 and counting.

During first weeks of lockdown period there was one 9 yr old female probably a hit and run- front legs crushed. I used to go and feed her, local pet care centers were closed or refused to provide shelter and treatment. Then the streets were barricaded and I could not go. Learnt later that I could have applied for a Police permit- that was a hit and miss. Anyways, don’t see her around, hope she is well wherever she is.

Have decided to sponsor a couple of kids who want to become vets. My only expectation: they should offer pro bono services for a certain amount of time

  • This is my country.
Just yesterday we have some food to stray dogs in the neighborhood. It's something we do time to time. Being a Buddhist community, this is a very command practice.
Street dog population continue to rise because there is no proper path to neuter dogs. Some consider it's a sin.

Interesting. Is that a Buddhist superstition or does it predate its arrival on the island?

The pro-natalists can be reasoned with, over here.
Love from Kerala, right next door.

Well. It's about karma. You don't hurt others. Even animals. Neutering them is hurting. Acc. Some at least.
