I use some VPS as gitlab CI runner and compile software on it.
These providers allow an average cpu usage of 50 to 70%. And I'm below that.

Bridge network and NAT forwarding if I need IPv4 + I assign an IPv6 address to the VM.
I use iptables for port forwarding, only because I know it better than proxmox's firewall

Servarica super provider in my experience.
I don't find their website particularly trustworthy. But I can confirm that it's solid stuff.
Never judge a book by its cover I guess :)

I'm using nested virtualization in production (KVM-in-KVM)
I don't see any performance issues.
I haven't tested it for applications that are very, very sensitive to the slightest latenc…

The best thing is not to start doing it.
It's a very saturated market. If you don't know what added value you're going to bring. Then you're likely to go bankrupt within 2 years.
