(Quote) What sets c1v apart is that it's clear fraud. He decided not to automatically reassign IPv4 addresses, betting that customers won’t speak up, so they can re-rent them out. That’s a bit different from virmach. Still for the sake of others, I…

Your new buddy @yoursunny might be interested ;) I'm not interested, but it's a good thing you're offering it, as it's not available from all providers There's a lot of competition out there, so it can only be a good thing to offer it If I were i…

(Quote) That’s exactly the strategy in my opinion And since its services are unstable, very few people were motivated to apply. I didn't. For me at this stage it becomes a scam. I'm not going to be tolerant again.

Congrats ! Nice location ! After all, there aren't that many affordable providers there. I had the opportunity to test VPS in Poland. And it was great. I think I'm going to give in. :s

(Quote) You need to replace IPv4 automatically for all your customers affected. It's not normal to have to contact support to get a service up and running. The specifications you have sold must remain available for the duration of the contract.

I use some VPS as gitlab CI runner and compile software on it. These providers allow an average cpu usage of 50 to 70%. And I'm below that. Sometimes I wonder what you're doing with your servers other than idling. :)

I've stopped monitoring mine. It triggered too many alerts. I got tired of it.

Bridge network and NAT forwarding if I need IPv4 + I assign an IPv6 address to the VM. I use iptables for port forwarding, only because I know it better than proxmox's firewall All of my most powerful VPSs use proxmox. It's so much easier for backu…

(Quote) I don't have any counter-arguments. Because even when I try to be encouraging... he manages to get his infra down a few hours later... :p

Things have been a bit more stable over the last few weeks But a few weeks isn't much in the world of hosting. Let's hope that this time the equipment is really redundant... In my opinion, this really isn't a great strategy... Normally, this type o…

My monitors are saying: Down again :'(

Servarica super provider in my experience. I don't find their website particularly trustworthy. But I can confirm that it's solid stuff. Never judge a book by its cover I guess :)

(Quote) Thanks. I'll spend some time automating. ;) And maybe take some time in the months to come to migrate it all to slightly more stable servers too.

I have to say it's a pain to have luks partition configured on c1vhosting vps. As there is at least 1 reboot per week. I'd have to disable encryption to make it less painful. :'(

Thanks for sharing! Great post Even though I suspected it, at least I have the full explanation of why I find google search more and more crappy every year...

Too bad for bandwidth... It takes time to move 9TB at 200Mbps But it's cheap !

I'm using nested virtualization in production (KVM-in-KVM) I don't see any performance issues. I haven't tested it for applications that are very, very sensitive to the slightest latency. But it seems to work well for many uses.

(Quote) Agree and disagree. Yes, technically, if IPv4 addresses were better used, we'd potentially have enough IPv4 addresses for services that really need a dedicated IP. But that's not the case today, as ips subnets are distributed. It's too late …

(Quote) Agree. Big changes only happen under duress. Especially since it doesn't provide immediate value for companies. Some don't make the effort because it costs them more than it brings in. They prefer to pay for IP addresses, which used to be f…
