Crates will be great for WordPress folks with a busy site or multiple sites and love their 50 plugins. Many people move to a VPS due to the standard 1 CPU and 2GB RAM limits on most current resellers holding them back. A $30 4-core, 8GB RAM cPanel …

(Quote) Some teething issues at the start, but the performance is stellar on the UK servers.
-
(Quote) It's a cPanel or DirectAdmin reseller, not a VPS.

Fixed, getting old you know, eyesight is failing. :)

Despite using Linux on servers for 25 years now, I detest Linux with a passion for desktops. I stick with macOS, a good balance between Windows and Linux.
-
(Quote) You should try LET, over there starving to death is preferable to not buying more VPS.

If you are not stuck on the UK then Buyshared. For $24 yearly it's been solid for me running a WP site without issue.

Blocksy is running its annual discount. Plus they have just launched V2 of theme. Includes great new features like adding a dark version. Love this theme. V2 Changelog. Pricing.

(Quote) Indeed. They were good. I keep a couple of cheap resellers for family and friends freebies but I will need to find another that has higher resources on the ram.

Thanks, I knew it was there somewhere. I thought it increased to 2gb RAM on the higher plan, but clearly not , no idea where I thought that came from :)

Correction - Elementor is now $59 per year. Divi has an offer right now at $70 per year.
-
(Quote) It's really not. Elementor is $49 per year. (Quote) Divi is $89 per year. They have a lifetime option at $199 though.
-
(Quote) Depends, it could be if you need it for multiple sites, but for most that only need it for one then not really. Elementor is $49 vs Divi $89. Comes down to value perception I guess.

Not cheap though. I mean I didn't expect it would be but still, AI is just more cost on top of everything else when it comes to WordPress.

No idea who likuid.com are. Seem to be Canadian but French also. In saying that they look like OVH users so HostMantis is probably a good fit.

(Quote) I get a few of these. They only have the right to be refunded for the part they didn't use. As long as you prove they used it for 7 days and there was a cost to you during that 7 days, the customer needs to pay for those 7 days. Many get …

The demand for hourly billing absolutely is there. Whether for testing an existing change, trying something new and so on. I see a lot of it going on. Whether your service will have any demand for it is a different matter.

(Quote) As is the hassle you get from it on a free host.

(Quote) 24 hours. For a drive replacement, I consider that too long but you can't ignore the man in the middle delay.
-
(Quote) So Inernap needs the request from your reseller first, and then it depends on what SLA your reseller has with Internap to get the replacement done. Even just you to the reseller and the reseller to Internap could take hours. Did the reselle…

(Quote) It wasn't the members here that were the issue, it was the amount of passing traffic that saw my service and ended up with me being a spotlight in places like India and China which never ends well with free hosting.

(Quote) Changed the domain, removed troublesome locations in favour of expanding other ones, stopped advertising on the worst places where all you got was the worst attention (LET/LES), and modified the signup process to make it near impossible for …

(Quote) I think Fran is just doing everyone a solid and releasing stock until Namecrane is up and running. Alternatively, he is about to Deadpool and just making a last grab at the cash. You decide.

(Quote) It isn't but after a few changes last year, it's running really well. 621 accounts, good usage, and virtually zero issues now.

(Quote) I remember this issue from before on my free hosting service before I eventually changed the billing panel again and had no issues with the API since. I can't at this point remember exactly what the issue was but it was definitely related t…

You do have to wonder how HM managed to keep things running so well, now DynamicHosting doesn't appear competent at all. Everything HM has is OVH as far as I recall so not like there is any significant change or issue with colo. By the sound of it…

Like most things, all languages are rules-based. Why did I just hyphenate rules-based? Why am I capitalising the letter i? How do I choose from there, their, they're or they are? If you don't know the rules, reading a book won't improve grammar,…

(Quote) Reading a book shows you, it does not teach you why. But carry on.

(Quote) First of all, if you are going to say this, don't make so many mistakes in your own grammar. Other than that, not everyone is educated to a high level, grammar is a difficult skill for a lot of people. Grammarly should not be seen as a too…

(Quote) Been using it for years, and never paid more than $50 for it. They are constantly running offers at the $50 mark. So anyone considering it, do not pay $150 or close to it. It is good though, keeps you right when you are typing long conten…

I got a $5 droplet in 2013, it's still $5 nearly 10 years later, they have increased the resource in that time, not the price. So from a financial point of view, it makes sense. In fact, you could say a price increase is long overdue. Can't see m…

I went down the NAS route about 15 months ago. https://lowendspirit.com/discussion/2537/nas-suggestions#latest Not saying it's best for you but I just found getting a set-up designed for the specific job in hand was way easier than having to self-…
