@nullnothere said: It'll be nice to have a storage VM with a decent size NVMe for some caching. That will absolutely blast the storage yabs into the stratosphere.
yes, the Pioneer 5TB and Nimiz 10TB with that amount of monthly BW and TB/USD are EOL.
In my view a promotion can be about 2 things.
1 - either get something standard at a discount price
2 - either get something exclusive, that is not sold on a daily basis
If we ran the 5TB and 10Tb all year long, where is the promotion then? it would be a normal sale. It would contradict it's purpose.
Same is for the crazy 7USD deals.
All the promotions we ran this year were unique products, none of them was from our website ( those have higher BW and port speed and higher IOPS).
All BF deals were crafted on spot for you, hence the delay posting or the mistakes that were made.
These are digital products, but I wanted to make them as personal as possible. This is why we generated unique pictures for them and unique specs for them.
What ran here as a promo did not ran on OGF for example and vice-versa. LES products usually have higher specs ( if anyone bothered to look ) either by more BW or port speed or CPU vCores or add-on storage.
Jumping from 1 product from OGF to another one on LES happened, and sincerely, I have nothing against it, but we wasted over ~300USD in fees total.
Not happy, rather then wasting 300 USD to PP and expenses to accounting I would have run crazy deals like 7 USD and 10 USD / year.
So we cam up with a re-visioned TOS regarding Refund Policy:
Refund Policy:
Standard Refund Window:
Refunds are available within 48 hours of purchase.
No justification is required ("no-questions-asked").
Refunds will be issued via the original payment method used at purchase.
Exceptions:
Refunds will not be processed in cases of:
Service misuse.
Violations of our Terms and Conditions (e.g., “hit and run” activity).
Promotional Sales:
Switching from one product to another during promotional sales is permitted; however:
Refund fees will be deducted from the total refund amount.
An additional $5 tax will apply.
Jumping between promotions posted on different media channels (e.g., forums, chat rooms, or other platforms) is strictly prohibited.
Credit Option:
We can, however, refund the remaining value of current products as credit.
The credit can be used to purchase any product currently available on the website or during a sale/promotion, provided it has inventory.
Support Assistance:
For any questions or assistance, please open a support ticket on our platform, and we’ll be happy to help.
Version: 5
Date: 05-December-2025
Now, if you look closely, we added the option to refund the remaining value of current products as credit for thoes services that a customer does not use or wishes to exchange to other services.

so a 1TB NVME sounds nice huh?
2C
4G
1TB NVME
5TB transfer
1G line?
Of course that will be nice as well (not sure on the affordability).
I was also going towards something like a 2 vCPU/ 4GB RAM / 120GB NVMe / 2+ TB HDD (etc.)
That 120GB NVMe gets split into roughly 20GB for the OS and remaining 100GB for a cache and of course the 2+ TB HDD for the actual data.
That'll be pretty sweet if your hot data can fit into the 100GB cache (whether its LVM metadata or ZFS special vdev or L2ARC...)
It may very balance the IOPS in the entire drive array as well if nicely setup.
@NullSir said: Just a quick question, will you sell unlimited 2G ports again?
Yes, but not as Promos, or at least not for a long while on Promos.
We still have a few customers that "Risked" with us on the beginning and have 2G unlimited BW / MO VPS services.
Almost none opened a ticket to exchange it for a promo VPS....

Yes, pricyng, well might do 2, 500 GB and a few limited ( very ) 1 TB
@host_c - upon trying your services so far I am happy. Thank you.
Since you seem to take a seat left available by Marius of HostSolutions, I can't stop but wonder if your services are also DMCA ignore. This was a great selling point for HostSolutions back in the days. As many know around here, Romania is a great country for torrenting due to its geographical position, network quality, and corrupted politics. So the question is: will you ignore DMCA complaints?
Another important question: will you accept (or did you already accept) traffic mirroring to Romanian Intelligence Service? They will knock on your door for traffic mirroring as your business evolves (if they did not do so already). This is important on one hand for freedom of speech of customers, but on the other hand if you accept it they will not "bother" you with "legalities". I wish to know your point of view, at least now, even if I can understand changing views later

First post in this thread (and they have always been very clear about this):
I wish to underline to everyone that we are no DMCA ignore, that term is pretty widely interpreted as PORN, Shady Stuff over the internet and other, some might got this idea as I am from Romania and some of my fella providers endorsed this type of activity in the past or still do, I will gladly disappoint some in this statement. Whatever you publish must follow this rule, whatever you store, that is not our business.

Yeah, I did not read properly. My fault. I kept dreaming about that story of HostSolutions reminding me of their failure with storage and Chia criptocurrency impact. I read it, but my brain was in dreams and memories. Thanks for the notice
If you get tired of renewing it, HMU :P. I'm a dum dum who held off because I was just a few months into my prepaid year of 9TB from a different Romanian compatriot and hoped his service would mature and settle if I waited patiently.* Anyway, by the time I realized it wasn't going to happen, the 5TB & 10TB plans were no longer available. 4TB is unfortunately too small, and 20TB and non-promo VPS are beyond my budget.
It sounds like @host_c is doing things well and also engaging with the community, so I'm also interested in seeing his service continue developing.
*It did not, and he also accidentally deleted my complete VPS container, making it the third or fourth time my entire VPS was completed lost in less than 8 months for reasons entirely outside of my control. Other ridiculous things happened too - there's a thread about it on OGF.

Honestly, when I got it I did not realize how good of a deal it was, but the longer I have it, the more likely I am to keep it now :P If a 4TB was cheaper I might swap down to that, maaaaaybe even a 3TB, but 5TB is a nice sweet spot for my situation (backing up 2TB of data but with versioning). I already do a primary backup to Backblaze for it which of course costs more per TB (though also scales based on actual usage instead of pre-allocating a certain amount), but I prefer having a backup location that I have root access to as well, so the VPS-style + storage drive is a great solution.
Also, random aside, does anyone know if the boot drives are in a raid configuration at all, or have any other form of redundancy?

I doubt I took over whatever Marius left, other than RO HOST = SHIT
Junior Marius did not help either in this image.
None of them realized that this is not to their advantage.
SRI ( Romanian Intelligence Service ) ( RO version of FBI ) will approach you if you host shit ( as any gov agency will approach any provider in any country if thatis the case ) , hence the statement in the start of the discussion, it is not our mission to provide such services.
Users cough in malicious activities that were banned from our network are welcome to share their experience here.
Assumption that we wish to fill a shit hole is wrong, I leave that to others that do not realize doing that will only put yourself, your buisness and ultimately your customers to the ground.
Free speech is not a synonym for Ignore all and malicious activities are welcomed.

It sounded like @root was specifically asking about DMCA, since that relates only to US IP protection/copyright stuff (aka Linux ISOs), not other malicious activities.

DMCA is treated different in the EU, bu it is present,
You need a pretty big amount of complains to get in trouble, that might change in RO, as GOV ran out of cash, so for 2025 this might seem to them a good source of income.
Atho I wish to see how a small provider that has assets under a fe $$$K usd can pay Millions in Copyright cases .
Thanks for the answer @host_c - I simply wanted to know your stance on these things. It is not that I am an abuser or something, don't get me wrong. I was simply curious about your stance as a provider.
Meanwhile I highly recommend @host_c so far due to performance of services, openness in replies and transparency using pictures.

So, any of you on the BF thread got a service? please either open a ticket or reply here if the IPV6 routing does not work correctly.
