Dear Customer,
We are writing to inform you of scheduled maintenance on our equipment.
Scheduled Maintenance Notification Description: We will be performing a software update on our systems to improve the performance and stability of your services.
Start Time: October 25, 2024, 21:00 CET
End Time: October 26, 2024, 00:00 CET
Maintenance Window Estimated: Up to 3 hours
Affected Services (Full Outage): ID 2720 - PADUA
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.
A wild Scheduled Maintenance appeared.
Again.
This time with 3 days notice, progreeeeeeeessssssssss.
And this time it's not n+1 power! Can you imagine?
If anyone wanna place bets when it will start and end please do, but we need someone to report when it actually started as my
the old IP address is no longer operational. The new IP has been activated only for those who have requested it.
this
It's simple: for some reason our kid can't have that original IP range anymore and asked his mom for a new one. But he has to migrate all current users to the new range. Every descent provider would allocate new IPs to users and communicate with the customers that they'd have a grace period in which both are available. Not Luca. His "AI" came up with another solution: let the users ask for it with a grace period. Trouble is: almost nobody asks. So AI came up with a solution: mess up connectivity to the old range so people are more willing to ask. And AI also mentioned that that would be a very good scheme, because every user not being able to use the service is potential money to be made.

This sounds like: I sold hosting services to you, but at some point, I decided to sell your IPs to someone else to cover garage DC rent. If you really want a new IP, please request it - otherwise, you won't have one.

That’s exactly the strategy in my opinion
And since its services are unstable, very few people were motivated to apply. I didn't.
For me at this stage it becomes a scam. I'm not going to be tolerant again.
I'm sorry to bother but after the latest upgrade or maintenance, the network got high packet loss both inbound and outbound:
user@c1v:~$ ping -6 dns.google -qc 80
PING dns.google (2001:4860:4860::8888) 56 data bytes
--- dns.google ping statistics ---
80 packets transmitted, 75 received, 6.25% packet loss, time 79157ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 10.130/10.204/10.366/0.041 ms

Hello,
Thanks for reporting. I will continue to monitor reachability from our monitors, as soon as a packet is lost I will be there to track down the problem.

Are you sure you monitor every packet? I get bad results too.
Thanks for recommending, but the provider account was registered in this May and has only 16 comments so far, with no discussions.
I'm not 100% or even 80% sure, but C1V has joined this forum for more than 2 years. I will leave your recommendation untouched, wait until at least 2026 to see if that account is still active then.

That is entirely your choice.
As long as you are happy with your c1v vps, no need to look for any alternatives.
