50% discount.

Probably not as good as Black Friday, but not too bad either.

https://landing.pcloud.com/WorldBackupDay2025?channelid=69&label=BikeGremlinThirtyInchesLong!
(NOT an affiliate link - LOL )

Note all the pros and cons of the service (and the peculiarities of the "Crypto" option implementation that is also sold on discount now).

Edit:
A real affiliate link ('cause yachts won't pay for themselves :) ):

Happy pCloud user for a couple of years now :)
For encryption I simply use Cryptomator.

Used the 500GB lifetime for like ~3 years and recently upgraded to 2,5TB after moving my photo collection (195.000 photos/videos) from Amazon Photos Unlimited and Google Photos to pCloud.

Headsup: The discounts usually aren't really special with pCloud and rather "normal" price while sometimes being better or worse. I paid like 279€ for 2TB.

  • It's about the same prices they had on Black Friday 2024.

I've heard stories of user account removal for "copyright violation" so plan to use just the smallest plan for auto-sync convenience when swapping computers/work locations.

Don't plan to use it for a real backup for that reason.

I just don't like the idea of a backup instance being terminated without a long warning (at least). That is a risk in addition to the usual malfunctions and hacks.

I don't know if they check every file for copyright. This is because they can't possibly know if you don't have a licensed DVD of a movie at home, thereby not breaking the copyright legislation.

What I think they do is check files which are shared. My advise to anyone is to not use these storage options for sharing content (especially content which can be infringe copyright), since I believe this content is checked when it is downloaded by third parties.

Even for hacks, the best protection is encrypting data before upload, since nobody can decrypt it but you. I even donated to Cryptomator, because it is that good. I use it with Koofr, not pCloud because I do not have a pCloud plan - even though I keep an eye on pCloud wishing to grab some plan one day when I got the money.

You could just out everything behind Cryptomator in that case. Although Veracrypt Vault may be better as Cryptomator preserves (some) metadata iirc

Adding to @root : I also read multiple times on Reddit that Shared files is what they're (mainly) looking at

pCloud computer client (Windows, Linux, and IOS) is very fast to sync, pretty "light weight" - compared to alternatives, including the Mega.nz which I use in parallel (tried and tested for years now - pCloud is yet to earn the trust).

Very pleased for now. Will see how it fares in the long run.

As far as I could google, pCloud "Crypt" option doesn't scan files even upon upload, so in theory it could be cool for storing any kinds of files on pCloud. Haven't looked into it, apart from uploading my own copyright-protected stuff (my book and some other books I paid for to keep coppies).

    That is not conslusive though.

Glad you're enjoying pCloud :) I'd consider pCloud Crypt for convenience but the price is just too much, honestly. Koofr includes Koofr Vault (smth like pcloud crypt + available on fdroid) for free.

If you end up buying pCloud Crypt let me know how it goes.

Check PMs regarding pCloud copyright policy. There was a reply by pcloud shared on Reddit. I pmed you

That sounds very promising. I suggest sharing it on the forum (so anyone interested can see).

I did try the crypto and it is OK for what it is - crypted saving.

It does sync if you configure computer/phone apps to sync, but not practical for one-the-go updates and syncing (you must log in and unlock it to work, for one). But for a crypted storage it seems a lot more practical compared to uploading a VeraCrypt archive or messing with Cryptomator (nothing against Cryptomator, it's just an extra thing).

I risked the lifetime (or "lifetime" LOL) Crypt licence at 100 euros. Colour me wasteful. Will see how it fares (along with the pCloud storage itself). So far so good.

Thanks for the feedback! Maybe some day I'll also buy crypt before it isn't available for lifetime anymore. Less because Cryptomator isn't enough, but more out of fomo if cryptomator gets discontinued before pcloud shuts down and Veracrypt always encrypts the whole container making it not..ideal.

Regarding pCloud copyright policy: This was shared on Reddit (not so long ago) in a post regarding random closures of accs.
