Gigahost NO DC2 legacy LXC 1C1G30G

Received it two years ago from Herr Brueggus' flea market, was using it for random stuff and low end torrenting (while it was still Terrahost).
Eventually, ended up idling it after a while, so now I'm letting it go! :3

Transfer conditions (c/o Gigahost support)

  • The transfer is free of charge
  • Both parties must raise a ticket containing the VPS IP and the account number of the receiving party
  • In case the receiving account is new, it may have to be verified first

Additional notes

  • Expected next invoice date (≒transfer deadline): approx. Aug 31 (unsure about possible price hikes, but it was 198 Norwegian kroner last time)
  • Served on a first-come, first-served basis - If interested, please respond here, and also DM me your Gigahost customer number - will try to get back to you within a couple of days
  • Currently, the only available OS template seems to be Ubuntu 18, and support said there won't be any more updates (to quote support, "LXC is a legacy product and it will not be maintained anymore so to keep your products updated we recommend acquiring a KVM Server.")
  • In case you are fine with me reinstalling the only currently available OS template (Ubuntu 18), I should be able to transfer the service within a day or two from my reply
  • On the other hand, in case you want me to keep the currently running Ubuntu 20 (which, contrary to Ubuntu 18, has not reached its EOL yet), I will most likely need a few more extra days in order to clean some things up before letting it go
Thanked by (2)treesmokah Brueggus

It was a good deal for the location, I still have it. That host node must be getting emptier and emptier now. The only downside is the lack of distros, which has been an issue from the beginning.
