  • As a user of @ VirMach for 3 years, I purchased 15 VPS with annual billing. Recently, I received a notice stating that a VPS has been suspended and accused of abuse IO@VirMach Please tell me that lifting the suspension requires a payment of $40. This is the first time I have encountered a problem in three years, and that's how he solved it. This is so interesting, it made me see @ VirMach clearly. No wonder so many people are boycotting @ VirMach. I finally understand

Have you been using them as torrent clients the whole time?

Any idea what was causing the IO load? Workloads evolve over time so I wondered if you'd been adding more and more entries to your torrent client which might've caused it. Any of the Docker apps doing a lot of disk IO ?

Please note, I am not the same person as just now,Not torrent

And @ VirMach knows it's just a regular IO exception, this is a pause notification only for IO exceptions

I think it should be a memory overflow causing IO exceptions

They didn't even provide me with evidence of IO abnormalities and sentenced me to death directly. To be honest, I don't even know if there were IO abnormalities, but I have installed surveillance here and the load is only

    Load: 1.00/0.82/0.75

Yes it is important to make sure that you have enough RAM for your applications. If you are swapping a lot it will cause high I/O issues. Maybe paying for an upgrade in VPS size will solve your problem. VirMach has been known to wave fees if the customer is honestly looking to resolve the problem and not just blaming VirMach's TOS.

Ok, first take deep breaths and try to relax.

Think for a moment. Why would he do these insane specials. And spend all the time and effort to make things so entertaining. If it was only about the money to him?

He could probably have sold as many with a fraction of the effort at 50% higher or double the prices.

Very few people get suspended. And very few people are generally unhappy. Most people are very happy with the great deals.

So don't overreact and just wait for Virmach to respond.

We've known him to always be fair.
So unless you did something extremely bad, I'm sure you'll be able to resolve this.

Also if you read his replies about the other abuser, you'd see he even refunded that (abuser) person's $40 abuse fine (which he didn't have to do). Clearly if it was "only about the money" he wouldn't have been so kind and generous.

So my advice is: first relax, be patient, remain polite and try to resolve it by being honest.

Best of luck, I hope things work out.

I have real-time monitoring on my end. When it was paused, there was still 30% unused memory and the load was only 1, with a load of 1.00/0.82/0.75

So this is the suspended box after it got unsuspended or a different box? The real question is whether you were doing any sort of monitoring before this happened. It's important to know what your machine is doing both to prevent suspensions as well as defend yourself should it happen.

This is the record of the last moment when the VPS that was informed of IO abuse was suspended and stopped

Just my opinion but that 768mb VPS looks pretty overloaded to me. I'm not surprised that you had issues if you are running like that consistently.

I don't think you understand the difference between a VPS and a VDS. If you want to use 100% of the resources assigned all the time you need to buy a VDS. A VPS has shared resources and can only be used at high rates for a limited time.

Any tips on installing for 128MB RAM on VirMach servers? I tried a few ways via ISO/Netboot directly but all of them crashed/killed with OOM (Debian 9+, AlmaLinux 8+)

Is there option for custom iso? if so you can try tiny core Linux it only requires like 46 mb of ram.

Yes, UDP is a "connectionless" protocol technically.

Your question is very good. Let me ask you a few questions
1.VPS will first directly restrict IO usage, for example, each VPS will only have 2000IOPS
2.When VPS uses 1000IOPS, the provider will directly sentence you to death and permanently ban VPS,Do you think it's reasonable?
3.Have you experienced the issue of IO abuse being sentenced to death by other providers?

Let me help you out here. I have a few VMs that I am not going to use from other providers in the EU that ether have hard limits on I/O or do not have hard limits but let people run wild. Let me see which one will let me transfer one to you. I'll give it to you for free for almost a year. It's Christmas after all. They are all much bigger than your 768MB VPS.
