What happened to Virtkick?

I remember coming across the project a while ago and have only now looked at it again - from what I can see the website is still up and the demo functions as intended (albeit running a version from mid-2016), however has development on the project been paused? From what I can see their Twitter account hasn't posted for over 4 years so I'm assuming they've just stopped working on it.

Can anyone confirm?

    Exactly what was predicted would happen, they failed to understand the market they were aiming at and never got enough take up to make it worth while. Then there was a failed purchase attempt by OnApp and everything when quiet
