Honestly for what we paid as long as it's 80% uptime even I'm happy.

Your making excuses at this point. Stuff like linked in basically exists for exactly what not_oles was talking about among many other services. Just because it's awkward to start a conversation doesn…

Sort of makes me wonder if we should be reporting hosts for engaging in schemes to pay below minimum wage.... Would not see it as a good thing for anyone to hire this student as described. Feels scum…

I mean, alternatively could just boot the os off a thumb drive and software raid just fine from within windows.

Yup would work in software no issues. M.2 uses pcie anyways. If you look at the adapter itself and the traces you will see it's fairly barbones just wires to the slot, no logic.

I'd say stop using raid 0 and save yourself a headache at a later date? Any profit you could potentially get would be negligable in my opinion for the hassle.

Honestly I see no issues here. Rather error on the side of some false positives if it has a meaningful chance to protect actually abused kids.

Given you don't want to become a host I'd probably reccomend not selling this as a vps and just selling straight storage. Easier to manage and you won't have to eventually deal with the headache of w…

Might make sense to be ipv6 only/nat ipv4 as its only meant to be backup storage. Cutting that cost would allow more users.

Honestly feels to expensive for no iv4. Would need to be like 2eu/tb/month max. Maybe go for a raid z1 array to cut costs a bit?

personally i feel like the pi is a great tinker board but from a colocation perspective there are more powerful sbc options from a straight compute standpoint that I feel would make more sense.
