(Quote) I forgot to mention that I have in the queue for installation: * Floccus (cross browser bookmarks syncing) * Uptime Kuma * Portainer I don't think PiHole or AdGuard would bring much benefit if I use uBlock Origin, which can also block YouT…

(Quote) How do handle kernel and package upgrades that require reboots? do you keep your servers up to date? :D
-
(Quote) Disappointing.
-
Yeah I can confirm, I don't see much difference in performance compared to local storage provided the latency between Nextcloud and the object storage isn't high. It's a different story though if you enable encryption.

(Quote) Dokku is awesome. It's literally like Heroku but on your on server, so you can save quite a bit of cash. The only limitation worth noting is that it only supports one server. I wrote a quick how-to if you want to give it a try https://vitobo…

I would never, ever trust that a provider that gives me a bunch of storage for "life" with a one time fee would survive in the long term
-
I prefer something like Dokku because it supports the same buildpacks that Heroku uses

(Quote) Yeah I realized. What's the point out of curiosity?

It doesn't seem like someone else has reported it, but Hetzner is offering AX/PX dedis with no setup fee for the Black Friday week. I am tempted to buy 3 AX41-NVME in Helsinki. Do you think Helsinki would be a bad location in terms of latency for U…

I was trying to take a look a look because I'm interested in virtual servers with this CPU but got a 404. Is this the correct website? https://advinservers.com/hybrid.html

(Quote) The prices for the smallest instances have gone up due to higher costs with up addresses AFAIK, but not just with the new location.

The US DC news is awesome. What happens with GDPR if we move stuff to the new DC?

(Quote) hi! The "Build Custom VPS" link takes me to https://my.hostcram.com/dashboard/plugin/support_managerpro/client_tickets/departments/ - I was expecting some kind of configurator. I wanted to see if it's possible to customize the amou…

(Quote) ah, I thought I had added to my profile but didn't remember about it :)

(Quote) Which virtual servers do you pay just $20/year or less? What specs and what provider? Never heard of those prices before.
-
(Quote) So far I'm not having problems, really, it's just that I know I will have more maintenance than before when upgrading K8s, the OS or Longhorn for the storage. Also the storage may be a problem because I will need downtime to add disks and th…

(Quote) This is the first time I hear of hourly-billed dedis. I didn't know they existed

(Quote) Uhm.... interesting. I will look into it. Maybe I can temporarily move my stuff to Hetzner's cloud servers while I set up the dedicated ones. Thanks for the input!
-
(Quote) Yeah I set up Kubernetes directly too, without virtualization so performance is max.

(Quote) Nice :)

(Quote) The point is not that a faster processor beats a slower one, that's expected. The point is that for the same money someone gives you a much faster processor :)

(Quote) Thanks! Which FB group?

yes Terrahost kinda shocked me to be honest because I had never heard of it before reading about it here and on other forums. The performance is incredible. I was going to stay with them, but I had some weird issues - like I said in the article - wi…
