(Quote) Was that true for panel migrations like this? I know new machines but not migrations.
-
(Quote) If you read the network documentation they link to it talks how on the new interface you can use whatever ip addressing range you want ( since it's a private vlan ). My guess is it removes the old interface and adds a new one which you can c…

(Quote) C7 should have NetworkManager installed by default. Try running nmtui and using that to change your interfaces. Once you're done, exit out and do: nmcli device reapply [interface_name_here] .

(Quote) No, my old NVMe from like 2019. Think they were their 8th birthday celebration ones. [donatello ~]# cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 vendor_id : AuthenticAMD cpu family : 23 model : 49 model name : AMD EPYC 7502 32-Core Processo…

(Quote) Several of my Legacy instances are AMD.

(Quote) I'm sure this got dropped in all the billion other things going on but since you're talking about template syncs I figured I'd bring it back up. BF-SPECIAL-2020 only shows the stock four ( C7, C8, Deb8, Deb9 ) for mountable ISOs. Absolutely…

(Quote) Just in case you're thinking this is about the migrations, the discussion you're referring back to is actually about Ryzen Location Change button and @yoursunny opinions on it.

(Quote) No need. That'll be my last comment. :)

(Quote) You're right. You never said single production node. You said a 24h planned maintenance was too long. I inferred from that it must be an outage maintenance since otherwise who would care if it takes 24h. (Quote) I think it was when you said…
-
(Quote) I'm not telling them they can't. I'm saying if you have a single production node then you've already made the choice that taking a potentially long outage is acceptable. Bitching because the provider "only" lets you migrate within …

(Quote) > (Quote) If it's in production then don't migrate it. If it's not in production then who cares how long it takes. Or better, $50 express fee and you get it there in four hours.

(Quote) I've done five or six without incident myself. Stay away from the west coast of the US and of course Tokyo and you're l likely fine. Just my $0.02.

(Quote) How bizarre.

(Quote) To add an ipv6 address? Why even touch the hardware for a software issue? Makes no sense.
-
(Quote) I have trouble seeing how this could even happen. Hardware raid or software?
-
(Quote) @Daevien's right, pretty sure they discontinued OVZ a few years back and converted everybody to KVM. I converted my ( formerly ) OVZ box over to Ryzen last month and it went fine.

(Quote) Instances on the nodes are not, no. I asked that question previously though it was a while ago so Virmach may correct me.
-
(Quote) No, those are TOTP. This is different.
-
(Quote) Interesting ... I hadn't noticed the correlation. All three are BF-SPECIAL-2020 .

(Quote) You use 'package names' so I want to make sure I wasn't unclear, this is ISOs in the billing panel. AMSD028 and NYCB014 both only show: * CentOS 6.8 X86 64 Minimal * CentOS 7 X86 64 Minimal 1611 * Debian 8.2.0 Amd64 Netinst * Debian 9.1.0…

(Quote) Oooo nifty! I remembered reading about Debian having some hocus-pocus you could do but didn't realize it was that simple. TYVM!
-
(Quote) I did notice the ones in the billing panel. They're just ancient CentOS and ancient Debian. Was hoping for a netboot.xyz. :) Good to know I'm not blind though. At least I have that going for me.

Since the Ryzen button came back I migrated two of my boxes - one AMS and one NYC. Was a bit quirky - feels like maybe you have to wait longer than expected before they're actually ready - but I got there in the end. I notice there's no CD's in Solu…

(Quote) Just a quick "thank you" for that explanation. I've been frustrated more than once to click through on one of your offers and get blocked despite being on a dedicated ip at hosthatch or virmach. Now that I understand why I'm not ne…

(Quote) Nobody ever means that description. When they mean that they don't bother to ask. ;-)

(Quote) Right up until they ban you for breaking the AUP.

(Quote) I have no reason or interest in flaming at this time but if it please the court I would like to reserve the right to make such statements at a later date. You have a good day too. :)

(Quote) Yeah, I'll wait a while and see what happens. Both my Seattle and Atlanta box went fine. Just unfortunate this box is/was my dns master so I'm a little antsy. (Quote) Nope, no need. :)
-
(Quote) No I mean it literally didn't change. Not in the WebUI , not in the DHCP table ( was already static, tried DHCP just in case), no email telling me what my new IP is, .... All good suggestions, I already tried them all. :) This was more a su…

It's weird. My NY vps that was on one of the nodes being migrated is now on Ryzen but my IP didn't change so I can't communicate with anything. Pinging some random local IPs it appears that I'm not alone either ....

How big is it supposed to be? It looks like it's 80gig.
-
(Quote) That would be unfortunate though understandable.

(Quote) I have some document management items and some family photos.

(Quote) You have been lucky. I've had two of my VPN providers die - liquidvpn and proxy.sh - and one of my smartdns providers.

(Quote) Oh man ... I totally couldn't be trusted with that. :D
