Been a few years since I've used it, but maybe fetchmail can do that? https://www.fetchmail.info/

If its only for testing, www.freenom.com have a bunch of free TLD's (.tk/.ml/.ga/.cf/.gq). I would not run any production on them, but they work great for testing, I have a few of my own.

(Quote) Corporate taxes are somewhat beneficial in Ireland, which makes it attractive for the big players to put dc's and callcenters there. However, infrastructure and hosting is expensive, which makes it impossible for the lowend players who are t…

(Quote) My-idlers is not for monitoring, it's simply a database for inventory.

(Quote) You could build that with Grafana. If you don't feel like doing it yourself use something already built, like https://grafana.com/grafana/dashboards/8378

You might have to be a bit more specific about what you are trying to monitor. I have a lot of experience in monitoring large environments and I would say that it is very hard to find a single tool that provides a really good overview when it comes …

@Mason maybe you should look into updating the info at donor-box, I just got a thank you mail for my monthly donation to "Warband Collective"?
-
I think $3 is the lowest monthly amount that donor-box allows, if just 10 people would do that it would cover the monthly expenses. I just set up a monthly donation, and if you can afford to let a bunch of VPS's idle you can afford a monthly donati…

My personal experience is quite the opposite. I use high-end hosting for a lot of my customers simply because they demand it. I also have several personal projects where I get the cheapest hosting I can get since it's mostly for fun and testing any…

TunSafe claims to have a working implementation and are willing to contribute patches, but they seem to get very little response from the Wireguard developers.

(Quote) It depends on your definition of "future". In the nearest decades? No. Prepare to dual stack or use some kind of proxy between the two protocols, at least on public facing services. I dropped IPv4 internally years ago, but since p…

(Quote) According to Epik, they acquired them "earlier this year". I have not noticed anything yet, but I'm cancelling my business with them nonetheless. I will not support Rob Monster.

Maybe you could split the download so that it is possible to download only certain categories? For example, one might be interested in all the articles about linux, but do not want the ones about wordpress or paypal. At this point, it would be fairl…

I got the 7x256 NAT bundle. Only problem I had is that I was promised a VPS in Chile, but got one in Poland instead. Opened a ticket and within minutes the pl one was replaced with a cl one instead. I must say the the support have been very quick an…

(Quote) This is good thinking. Having identical repos means an error in one will probably exist in the second as well.

Incremental forever does pose a risk which grows over time, so most people utilize some sort of mix, like incremental for daily, differential for weekly and full for backup. A good backup would also include some sort of verification or even test a r…

Opossum bought, we need more IPv6 only plans!

Ramnode? Never tried their webhosting, but their VPS's are pretty solid.

(Quote) I need WebDAV and performance is totally irrelevant, so it was perfect for my needs. (Quote) I really do not understand this kind of humour.

Damn, I liked Novos Brick. Anyone know of a similar provider?
-
(Quote) Yes they do. .org is the open source version, .com is the saas version.

Looks a lot like Mattermost

I had to check if I even had a website on the main domain, but I did put up a simple index.html years ago and it's still there. :) https://www.bugs.se

Good idea and nice work. However, I personally would never watch a video. I will never understand how people can prefer videos over readable text.

If you already have Dallas, then go with Frankfurt. Two US locations doesn't make much sense.

(Quote) I just checked, and you are right, some providers actually do use it (you are one of them, I just checked). But some providers seems to ask for it and never use it anyway, in the same way that a lot of providers asks for nameservers but neve…

(Quote) I think it's a good idea, my-idlers lacks in some areas but it's the best I've found so far. Just don't clutter it with a bunch of stupid features that nobody needs.
-
Are you talking something like https://github.com/cp6/my-idlers? I love my-idlers, but sadly it has a few issues and development seem to have stagnated.
-
Yeah, that is something that has been bugging me forever. Basically every provider asks for hostname, but no one uses it. Why don't they just remove that field?
