(Quote) Passionate gamers typically can fork the extra cash to buy a GPU, as cloud gaming does introduce a bit of latency, but overall, people are pivoting, especially those who game every so often and given 30-series cards are nowhere to be found. …

(Quote) I think there's a case for rendering/CAD/etc. that GeForce now doesn't work in those cases because you can only play limited games (I'm assuming???). Also you can't select a GPU (if you somehow need a specific model for a some random reason)

@lightblade the thing is, I won't physically be at HE's DC, so whereas Hetzner can have technicians plugging in consoles, I can't, haha :) I know there are some switches so I might play with that, but the simplicity of managing VPSes is why I leane…

Ok, thanks for all the info everyone! I was curious on if this product could work, and I now know, so something for me to play around with in the future :)
-
(Quote) Yep! So I get to save on motherboards (no need for IPMI) and customers get the flexibility of VPSes with the power of full dedis.

(Quote) Just easier on a management basis to do virtualization rather than KVM consoles (don't have experience in there), but maybe I could learn. Found some stuff on Amazon that isn't too expensive. (Quote) Ofc. This is just an post to see if peop…

(Quote) Ah, nice! Guess there is already an option! :)

You are using their default image and this happens? Double check networking is all correct, and consider contacting support if another machine is competing for the same IP)

@cociu just curious, what server chassis do you use? Never heard of a 14 drive-bay one (only 12 drive bay ones). Also, @bdl's photo seems to show a 1U server. Just curious, haha :)

(Quote) Just curious, how is the performance? The P5000 is a rather old card nowadays (Worse than a 1080 for gaming).
-
(Quote) Haha :) https://www.fluidstack.io/cloud-gaming Basically a Shadow.tech competitor, and you would get a bit of time every month (think somewhere around 50 hours/month) to use a Windows VM complete with a 1080 Ti or better to stream your gam…
-
Fluidstack.io :) Pricing isn’t at $15/month right now - the cloud gaming service where you use it for a bit every month is in alpha testing, but you can rent dedicated GPU machines with 1080s from $96/month. Let me know if you need any help or hav…

If this is like the Oakleys aquisition of WebPros, things will be getting even worse for EIG customers! Sadly I have a few web design customers that don't want to change things if it already works, so I'll see first-hand how things change....

(Quote) I just signed up earlier today, and I was placed on OVZ6.

(Quote) Just ordered, and I am shocked - default installation is Centos 6???? And for Ubuntu, the latest version they have is 16.04!!! Not even 18.04 when the world is moving to 20.04....

(Quote) Looking though, there are many differences that make my brain hurt. E.g. there are these session variables: $_SESSION['userpassSession'] $_SESSION['EmailIdSession'] So, do the devs want to capitalize the first letter? Even file names are …

Any location: 1 vCPU 756 MB RAM (plus 256MB for every TB of storage) 1 TB transfer per every TB of storage Any amount of storage, under $2/TB/month NAT IPv4 accepted E.g. 1 vCPU 2 GB RAM 5 TB bandwidth 5 TB storage $10 Obviously the price/TB is…

(Quote) I believe Oakleys wanted to exit quite some time ago. I think growth is stagnating, so now, they triple per-account prices to show revenue growth so their pitch deck and cap tables looks better...

Just out of curiosity, what was the provider?

Find someone on Upwork :) https://www.upwork.com/cat/developers/ Fiverr probably would work too

(Quote) Thanks! Sent them a message. Kinda weird though because the "Contact Us" button on the homepage doesn't work, so I had to email them. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence, but let's see...

(Quote) Preferably North America where I can ship cheaply :)

I believe you can edit /etc/pve/qemu-server/xxx.conf (E.g. 100 or whatever your VM ID is) and manually include the disk name of the disk used in another machine. Don't know, though. Apologies if I mislead you. Just an idea that I have never tested.

Has it been taken yet?

(Quote) Ah, thanks! I misunderstood the email then. @AnthonySmith can you change the thread title?

(Quote) In our capitalist society, NVIDIA will produce as many GPUs as people are willing to buy. Miners are willing to buy until it becomes unprofitable (increasing block difficulty), so no, mining will eventually become like how it currently is. …
