Ext4 on mdraid raid 1 takes 6 hours to add one disk to a 2TB pool. I tried ZFS on linux several years ago but performance was pathetic.

At that price: HostBrr — $25 / year 1 Intel Cores (shared) 1000 MB RAM 1000 GB HDD 3000 GB/month bandwidth 1.0 Gbps port speed IPv4 (NAT) + IPv6 Germany Or with the 2GB RAM add-on on the same service: HostBrr — $39 / year 1 Intel Cores (shared) 2…

(Quote) It's not important and I don't mind, but IMHO the claims of tier 3 DC, proprietary DC, largest DC in the region, world class network, etc reach beyond mere pompous advertisement when people still wonder if there is a DC at all. Check the def…

I found out that Mzungu means white man. Wikipedia says it means "wanderer" but in practice it's used to mean white man. No idea how this came to mind. newtork is fast. r u there?

(Quote) Thanks! :3 It was actually ambiguous without a priori information. Will re-crawl ... soon™. (it's gonna take a few hours because my computer is overloaded)

@myself: thank you for your feedback, your /ignore time has been doubled =)

It's getting tough dealing with 200-character long regexes. Like, I would rather just vomit on those. However, to ameliorate the pony's malaise (not to be confused with Malaysia, check that regex, pony) he recommended me to: (Quote) Because otherw…

You close all the ports, only leave tcp 22 open for convenience, and then you get: * backdoored SSH via liblzma * a malloc in openssh signal handler that only an cretin could write without malice * IPv6 localhost spoofing permitted by the kernel, a…

@servarica_hani: Thanks for updating the product pages, I can properly parse the bandwidth now. There is still lack of clarity about what CPUs are used; take this service from https://clients.servarica.com/store/nvme-plans: * 2 Shared CPU cores * …

@sh97 told me to meet him behind the school after dark :bawling: :bawling:

(Quote) The purpose of that is to exclude from the search results basically anything that @sh97 recommends =) (I have to index some crap providers solely to not give him an edge)

(Quote) With the current parsers of the product descriptions (which I'm rewriting, and it's taking over a week dealing with caches, permutations, more caches, binning, and crap (lots of crap!!)) the offers are all properly spammed here in my super s…

(Quote) The text on all product descriptions needs to be corrected, because I'm still parsing 1Gbps up to 4TB, then 100Mbps.

(Quote) My workstation has an E3-1245 v3, which should be similar. At 150W it costs 350 €/year in electricity alone. The power plants in NY must run on holy spirit.

(Quote) C1V can do it 💪: compress memory, compress file system, compress swap, compress network, and compress the hopes than no one will use more than 5% of their nominal slice size; if they do, the AI would further compress the fractional reserve.

I'm in a miserable place between the swamps of Comacchio and the pine forests or Ravenna :'( Sorta. Okay it's not that big of a forest, the Romans cut them down. And the swamps were reclaimed by some Pope centuries ago. But still.

(Quote) Sounds like something from an American movie; I don't see this happening in Italy, recycling companies are 100% state business, private in title yet owned by the communes; parastatal monopolies don't have the bureaucratic flexibility to acco…

Time ago I rented Azure's HPC server, 120 cores, ~300 GB memory, for a few weeks. It was 10€ per day billed by minutes or seconds. The performance was brutal. IIRC they lease smaller slices, 60 cores, 30 cores, etc.
