(Quote) I’ve edited out that from the offer and moved all the spam/order id posts to the bin.

(Quote) Briefly put: Providers: Don't encourage spam, i.e. require customers to post a comment in order to get benefits ("double bandwidth" and similar stuff). Customers: don't spam the offer threads. Use them to post questions related to…

I've removed the double bandwidth bullshit - and I recommend any tests or reviews to be posted in separte thread(s).

(Quote) That is my impression too. Raspberry Pi makes sense for controllers and similar things where low power consumption and compact size are more important.

If it helps anyone - I got a 12 TB Seagate IronWolf Pro (my German - Amazon.de affiliate link) for about $270. The picture says "Pro", the description doesn't, but I got the Pro allright. Passed all the stress tests, and has been working …

At this point, after having checked out the prices of mini PCs and touch-screen large screens, we are considering going down that route (with a couple of thousand $ for a screen, saving $100 on the "computer"/computer won't make much of a …

(Quote) Double opt in is a good idea regardless of the stubid GDPR. Having said that, it makes more sense for newsletter subscriptions and similar. For a contact form, it is more important to provide good spam & bot protection. WPforms works n…

Removed the offer over the $7 limit.

Well, I have managed to install an Apache web server and PHP. PhpMyAdmin install was a bit problematic, but that probably won't be needed anyway. MySQL might have been installed properly, but I haven't tested that. The unit does overheat in the or…

(Quote) This is still in the "draft" version. Nothing is defined, nor set in stone. Roughly: the idea is to run a simple map "website" (PHP, but no DB) for users via a big touch screen (so, one user at a time). Maybe it will be c…

(Quote) It is intended to run offline, locally, connected to a big screen for some presentation/service.
-
(Quote) No idea. It's on my desk, and I'm supposed to make it run. LOL. Will probably connect it to a monitor in the morning and give it a go if possible. It has a HDMI outlet and USB ports.

After having been using Ubuntu + Gnome for a while: It can work, but it sucks compared to Mint + Cinnamon. It doesn't suck bad enough for me to do a new Mint install, but with hindsight, I would have installed Mint right away.

The last offer ("VPS - 4096") is above the $7 p/m limit. I've edited the offer to remove the item. Relja

(Quote) I fear that would not sell well without the legendary Earcutter added to the bundle. Unfortunately, with the embargo on Russian trade, that is not possible to negotiate at the moment. Another obstacle is that the semi-automatic hammer is to…

(Quote) It can, if you use our semi-automatic hammer for anesthesia first.

(Quote) Why would you do that? No blood - no party!

(Quote) In truth, it's made of refurbished rusty spoons (100% recycled!), but the production is outsourced to Japan in order to reduce the manufacturing costs.
-
(Quote) Indeed. Safety is always an important concern!

(Quote) Your TCP overhead has been doubled! Thank you.

(Quote) This version can only hack LAN infrastructure, but we are working on developing a Wi-Fi hacking tool. Stay tuned. (Image)

(Quote) Ahh, the legendary Earcutter! Love it! Easy to carry - hard to take! :)

Do you care about privacy or bureaucracy? MXroute is privacy-friendly AFAIK.
-
(Quote) Apparently not. I thought it's a good idea to edit the post and write the comment, to avoid any misunderstanding, further discussion about that, and post flags. Relja

(Quote) I've edited the post to add/disclose the link being affiliate info. Affiliate links should be disclosed.

(Quote) On my "computer site," I write down all the stuff I need to keep my (and client) sites running. This is my general optimization article series: https://io.bikegremlin.com/category/sites/optimization/ This is more WordPress-centre…

(Quote) Yup. Running on fumes now. Must re-stock rakija ASAP! :)
