(Quote) This could be a clue - delete both local files, then try again? :/

Rearrange into a common phrase: "a barge pole with wouldn't touch" From day one, I could see the mettle of a particular 'provider'. It was obvious by the questions they asked, IIRC.

(Quote) you're from ;)

Reading between the lines suggests that more activity is likely to happen on CHI servers and that I shouldn't be hasty in returning the client site to the VPS there. :-/

Miami (MIAZ014) back online at last! :|
-
Miami server down. :'( I assume that @VirMach knows about this already and perhaps it's part of the NYC creep migration.
-
^ Yup. Total PITA. Had to revert the client site to my replacement server and less importantly that's me also down on one nameserver. I'm starting to lose patience now.

(Quote) Awaiting the Wonder Woman pushups meme.

@VirMach > Approximately 2 to 3 hours of downtime while your service is migrated. You having a laugh? ! Looks as though I'm going to need to restore to that new competitor's server. What a bloody PITA. :-(

(Quote) Just you wait.. actually the migration is for CHIZ001 and CHIZ002 - guess where my VPS are?

CHi has bitten the dust. :(

(Quote) I hope that this is some form of reassurance. ;) This specific NYC (multi-IP) has been excellent up to this point. Awaiting the Sh1t to do the bad thing, when my BF'19 in CHI gets its IP change : pre-warned a client on that one. Still not c…

(Quote) I did revert to the NYC one but given upcoming CHI and MIA shenanigans, the newly built server may prove useful. It's significantly annoying due to me virtually idling the NYC server since BF 2019, to confirm its stability, which WAS solid a…

As said to client just 5 mins ago: Sod's Law back up just as I changed the DNS to the newly built replacement server. :anguished: As I predicted.

Had to rent a server from another provider, due to NYC fiasco. :'(
-
My main NYC VPS is now inaccessible - node unknown; 185.221.22.0 subnet. [Edit; All NYC down for me!]
-
Arrgh; migration and IP changes (again). Hope the one with multi-IP works out! (Quote)

^ Still think it's a silly name! I thought I'd give it a taste, though not off to the best of starts. ;) (Items 2-5 above remain unanswered/resolved at present.)

Obligatory yabs (I'll see if I can get a geekbench score): (Spoiler) It turns out that the Alma 8.8 template doesn't have tar installed (weird!) (Spoiler)

interesting; 1. Hey, a new location, North of Manchester! (just ) :astonished: 2. Can a monthly plan be changed to annual at some later date, retaining the recurring discount? 3. The monthly amount in the Client Portal doesn't display the discounte…

MIA back up - phew! Highlighted a wee issue with my backup method, so very glad to get it alive again!
-
Miami seems to have gone down, at least for one node. :( Has this been relocated to the Asian hotspot (California)?
-
(Quote) I know that feeling too well!

https://ava.hosting/data-center/ (Quote) Ouch!

No server location, no terms & conditions and no business information on that website. :astonished: :/
-
Bad influence you lot! .. What if you sign up for a yearly plan on the 29th Feb? Can't be renewed on same day for another 3 years (excluding 1st year already paid). :/ I need more Diazepam whisky coffee.

Holy Necro! Good to see ya though - haste ye back. :)

(Quote) Now that's interesting and different to many. :)

@Dewlance Perhaps English is not your first language, so, much as a hate to, I'll spell it out.. Specifically where (either State or better, datacentre) are the VPS servers housed? Simple question, really. (I'm assuming California, given the ping …

So, are Dewlance VPS West coast USA, Asian traffic magnets?

(Quote) You're at it again. :|

(Quote) Whereas, I might view this as a provider who is comfortable with their offerings and is looking for less hassle. Just another angle. ;)
-
Can't recall where you have VPS servers - goes off to research, though better to mention in your listing. ;) [Edit] (Quote) Hmm..

(Quote) Basic stuff and should've been the first place that you looked. Shared hosting is cheap and more suited to someone with no sysadmin skills. Just saying. (Oh, and zero sympathy due to using Ubuntu on a server.)
