@LES-BOT said: $7 p/month Maximum for VPS offers

Is offering $100 per month for a VPS fine as long as a one-time discount for the first month of 95 % is offered?

Shouldn't the maximum "$7 per month" be the recurring price?

May I also suggest that specifying a "per month" price that is only valid for the first month is misleading and shouldn't be allowed.

Only $100.00 per month $ 5.00 per month
95 % OFF for first month

    vs.

Only $5.00 for first month, $100.00 per month thereafter

I see that you've come here after looking at my LES Exclusive offer post.
Its not misleading at all, I mentioned it in 3 places of the post that it was only for the first month.

    • title
    • heading
    • right below the price

Unless the person is having difficulty seeing, its very clear that its a first month offer.

I don't find any issue with this allowance.

    Sure.
The core principle of communism is that you take what you need, no payment required.
I need 8 cores for encoding push-up videos, and the server @cmeerw is using looks perfect.

HostBrr aff best VPS; VirmAche aff worst VPS.
Unable to push-up due to shoulder injury 😣

    Now 4 cores 8 cores
double cores for the first month

How many cores do you get for the first month, and how many for the following months?

And someone has to explain to me what this has to do with Communism.

Comrade, I am sad to say that your request could not be fulfilled because of the US-emposed sanctions.

Please continue contributing according to your ability for pushups, and the victory will be imminent!

Apparently "HDD colo" i.e. VPS with a customer-provided drive can charge setup fee now.

An exception was granted as was already communicated. I am in favor of allowing Colo to have setup fees too as that makes more sense to me than dedicated services being the only service that allows setup fees. I'll take that back to the team.

I agree Colo having a "return to sender" fee makes sense.

The "return to sender fee" is usually charged at the backend - when the customer wants equipment returned, the colo provider charges a remote hands fee to derack the equipment and charges a shipping fee to mail the equipment (unless customer provides shipping label).
If the colo provider charges "return to sender fee" upfront and then deadpools, the customer loses not only the equipment but also the fee.

However, if the customer wants to cancel service and abandon equipment, the colo provider would have to absorb disposal costs.
This cost could be amortized into the monthly price.

Just because "everyone else does it" doesn't mean everyone will have to do it. Thinking outside of the box is what gives new ideas to old providers.

I will also post this here.

The question was asked before the post, Admins gave it an OK, offer was posted.
