I'd wait before purchasing any VPS for production use, too fresh means possibly unstable.
But I also think every good provider should test systems before putting them to use for hypervisor.

I know it was awhile ago, but pretty accurate. We've had them (and testing/exploring) but I won't push them yet as none of the BIOSes for the enterprise/ipmi boards we use have production versions out. The beta one from ARR seems okay, but I'd always be wanting to update that board in the back of my head.

Fully unloaded and bare-metal, so I'd expect a tiny drop once virtualized and unless its a VDS probably more for being shared/loaded.

    Geekbench 6 Benchmark Test:
    ---------------------------------
    Test | Value
                    |
    Single Core | 3560
    Multi Core | 19913

Depends how badly you need it. 7950X is pretty fleshed out at this point. You're probably going to see ~10-12% uplift in performance (best case). I know on our side, the CPUs are ~30% more expensive (maybe more as 7950X will likely drop). Nice to see an improvement, but I'm not positive on what the value would be aside from latest and greatest.

  • anyway, the better the gb6 all the more we need such a machine. do you have a good offer for 3€ a month?! @crunchbits

  • 9000 series is more about efficiency and tdp. Amd goes intel way and squeeze every last drop of watter from the stone.

Reckon we could see some good price drops on the 9000s & it ends up being a good deal more long term
