It’s a low end provider with some flaws (now already well-known on LES).

    So, as I said:

So anyone who has grievances for: bad services, undelivered services, missed refunds, and other such things can also thank you for allowing him to continue to do so

I've been one of the first ones to jump into C1V when they firstly released their offers here. All I can say is that I've never needed to open a ticket despite a few of initial issues which were quickly handled by simple LES DMs. I'm not hosting anything intensive, so I can't evaluate if there's overselling or not, but it works for my use case, and for what I've paid for, more than happy.

C1V is not perfect, and yes, I've suffered from network outages like everyone. But cmon, this is fucking basement level prices, and I've been having a waaay better experience with C1V than with the other basement host everyone knows here, who basically "scammed" me.

    No way to please everyone.
We try to filter out and prevent scams - as much as possible.

For other stuff - there is a wide range of service quality and prices (even in the low-end sector alone).
There are reviews and LESbian feedback, so people can make an informed decision (according to their level of acceptable risk).

  • Given the lack of outrage here, I don't think he has negatively impacted enough people here to warrant a cancellation. However, I am also uncertain about the quantity of orders placed though here and the number of clients who are experiencing difficulties.

I don't think providers should be banned here for offences committed on the other forums, unless those offences were very serious in nature.

SwiftKey kept typing/recommending outage in that line, which I had to correct to outrage.

21:27 my VPN to c1v drops, website goes into cloudflare "I'm under attack" mode

On the website, these messages appear:
22:47 trying to reach Rome/Pomezia POP (couldn't he just walk down from the apartment to the garage?)
22:57 looking for the outage source...
    23:44 asking for physical support...
    08:42 issue has been found...
12:31 waiting for Rome provider intervention...

So a single provider going down can bring down the whole POP? The datacenter is advertised as a Tier 3 (1+N) so this should not happen at all.

(in the meanwhile, I wonder how he's currently juggling between going to school and managing a provider)

Sometimes i feel yabs is way over rated and people use yabs as a gold standard regardless of the use case.
A low score on one area or all may still be fine with a different usecase (like idling). Or hosting a simple site...

Plus it's a snapshot in time so chances are it may vary good or bad significantly over time.

Specifically yabs from the latest offer is not going to be any different than others posted already.

if the use case is idling, then it does not really matter if GB6 score is 78 or 278 or 1278.

However it does matter if the use case is wordpress site.

    +1

People complaining about the cheap service when they willingly paid for it without checking the reviews first; now even want the host tag to be removed cause their service sucks? You must be out of your mind.

If the host is a scam, took your money and never gave you a server, or ran away or terminated your account without valid reason, then I understand taking away the provider tag (or just ban them). If you want premium service, pay premium. Go with AWS, Oracle cloud, or Azure. Don't loiter around LES/LET and go with random no-bodies offering bargain basement prices.

**However it does matter if the use case is wordpress site. **

Why would you want to run a WordPress site on an oversold node with no minimum performance guarantees, and where the offer mentioned

Don't order this server if you expect high performance as this is a low-end offering.

and went on to say " Potato is better".

There is low end, there is frugal, there is cheap, and then there is plain silly.

I agree 100% with you. And, I did NOT go with €10 VPS that is "worse than potato" (provider's own words)

Here is GB5 score my low end VPS and working perfectly for my use case

Again it's subjective. A low volume site would still be OK. Heck I have used micro dedis (or similar) from nat4vps and it seemed to give 2 digit gb scored and worked wonders for my non idling usecase.

Maybe you just have something against this provider who has been clear with the performance experience from get go..

Or maybe not. I am probably not awake...

    Cheers

Other then idling (which is the proper use case for these low end deals) running a wordpress is not recommended as most often people will setup apache, mysql (without optimization), php and then install wordpress. Some even go as far as to install a free hosting panel to make it easy for them, not realizing that all of these are taking their performance away.

    Low end servers mean:

    • no sql database (unless you know how to change the config for low ram usage)
    • No apache. Nginx is acceptble sometimes
    • No nodejs. They require a lot of CPU cycles (atleast when i was building an app on them). You can prebuild them on another server and serve the app using nginx as that will run in the user's browser.
    • Good for running low end python based scripts
    • Good for using it as a static file host (if you dont mind the delay in loading the content)
    • Good for use as your second backup device

I would argue that nginx is about low-end. It is just more resource efficient and therefore is a wise choice even for high-end scenarios when you have to serve as much requests per second as possible.

No matter what the server is, if I don't need to support Apache-only web applications, I would go with nginx.

Well I mean I would understand it if the user is new on the forum, saw a good deal and grabbed it up. But he is from October 2022. If he still don't know the type of performance many super low end hosts offers here, I dunno what to say. I mean there is a 8.7K comments long thread of compalins about VirMach...

That I agree with. I use nginx on my dedicated servers as well. Only time I would use apache is if i need apache tomcat server for application deployments.
