As a guy who sometimes gets involved with random startups, using beta software is really a "common" practice in places like this. We try and test stuff, mixing and matching with applications to provide a good, tailored experience to a customer. While I do agree that none of the startups I was involved in sold any services with beta software (we usually went with a bog-standard WHMCS setup), I think OP is still learning and will figure out things as it goes.
