Just saw this on their Discord. Seems like we might get some nice discounts during September.
Maybe even another discount on lifetime products :)

Tagging users I remember using ZAP: @rubenmdh @sgheghele @ialexpw @zgato @rootnet

There'll also be vouchers for the cashbox apparently. The first one has already been posted and yields 2€ It can't be redeemed for lifetime products though, so...

Get ready for a month full of surprises... full of giveaways, exclusive discounts, special cash-in deals, livestreams, community events and contests.

Speaking of events and livestreams, we have packed a ton of content across the month, starting with our well-known ZAP Wheel Livestream this Friday at 8PM German Time!

This will be followed by weekly events with some of our Community-favourite activities including an ETS2 Convoy, a Hunger Games event on our ZAP-MC server.... and much more! Get ready for an awesome picture contest too!

Don't miss out! Make sure to grab both the Giveaway & Community Ping roles from Channels & Roles to stay up-to-date with the latest news throughout ZAPtember.

On the topic of free surprises, it's Zappy Monday today which can only mean one thing...

Monday + ZAPtember = MONDAY-ZAPTEMBER 🪙
**Redeem the voucher in your cashbox ** https://zap-hosting.com/zap-coins

Hope to see you around throughout ZAPtember!

It's "MONDAY-ZAPTEMBER" just in case you misspelled it. Was only 2€ anyways.

I just copied and pasted from your post, but I tried it again just to be sure:

These codes usually have a lifespan of one hour until they are all used up. They post it on their social media so it must run dry quick.

Thanks for the ping - I will keep an eye as lifetime deals might indeed be possible.
Last year coupon was available until late september, we'll see: https://zap-hosting.com/en/blog/2023/09/30-off-lifetime-servers-only-available-in-zaptember/

On the other hand and as a quick note, I recently had my [lifetime] dedi SSDs replaced as they were pleading for retirement (<0% estimated SSD health, lol) and they were promptly replaced without any extra costs, so it seems they keep up they are true to their word on free replacements. (For now at least)

Do they have updated operating system templates for KVM or LXC or FreeBSD?

LXC yes, I haven't tested them though, but Debian 11 is working fine for me (I'll probably have to reinstall to get 12 since it's probably going to break if I manually upgrade).
KVM nope. Still those old Debian and Ubuntu images, but at this point, and with the amount of RAM the base package has, it's easier to just netboot and manually install, and safer since it's your own image and not their provided ones.

I guess Netboot.xyz available for boot?

Someone here had a tutorial on how to do it, sorry I don't have the link, maybe @Ympker has it?
But you can just add it to your grub2 menu and boot from there, and no problems loading the ISO on RAM since you have plenty of.

EDIT: take a look at this, should work perfectly fine: https://netboot.xyz/docs/booting/grub

Netboot works on KVM. I put a guide by @rootnet on the first page of the ZAP Hosting Lifetime thread here at LET/LES. LXC now has more recent images, KVM only Debian 10, which can easily be manually upgraded to Debian 11. Apparently new kvm images are being worked on but take some more "weeks" due to network adapter issues.

Check for tutorial here in OP mate: https://lowendspirit.com/discussion/5751/zap-hosting-lifetime-servers-discussion-updates/p1

Thanks for those! The first one worked for me as of this post. The others did not (all listed as "no longer valid"), to save anyone some time trying them.

What do you mean passed on? Iirc you can't upgrade to the "premium cpu" later when you order KVM/rootserver. You can only upgrade disk space/network speed/cores/ram

Unless they some day require an ID check, I don't see why this would be an issue.

  • Have they released any lifetime deals or other discounted stuff? I'm in their discord, but all I've seen so far is those zap coins.
