VPS Dime doesnt allow special offers to be transferred
@mods,
I feel anyone who wants to transfer their services, they should do their due diligence and get confirmation from the providers whether they allow a transfer in the first place and if there are any fees which need to be paid...
Else it's a waste of time for intended buyers to get their hopes high only to be disappointed later. And if money is exchanged then that would need to be reversed and there is always the issue of one person not responding timely.
The seller should be able to find this information by simply raising a ticket before posting such threads.
Just my 2 cents
Thnx
Op, good luck
Too bad, this is the response from VPSDime:
Unfortunately, special services are not transferable.
ServerStatus , slackvpn <-- openVPN auto install script for Slackware 15
Understood. You''d prefer the giver do all the work to get nothing in return.
Oke noted.
Got it.
Should I call it a little effort for free stuff?
Anyway, I still have some other idle VPS :
Hostcram LXC 1GB Memory (Dallas) $15/year,
Webhorizon KVM 512MB Memory (Ovh France) $7/year,
Obhost OpenVZ 7 DE 6GB RAM $20/year.
Will post them after these offer.
https://microlxc.net/
They are getting the idler money back. And it's the work required anyways as some providers ask transfer fee which may need to communicated, may not allow transfer from certain buyers(scalpers) etc.
Inception doesn't allow transfers, asked them a few days ago because of the other thread
Contribute your idling VPS/dedi (link), Android (link) or iOS (link) devices to medical research
Are they? I didn't see anything asking for money. These were generous transfers of idle machines. If they were asking for money I'd agree the seller ( note, not giver ) needs to do the work.
My bad, i didn't see the OP saying it's a giveaway. But there will still be work involved for both to transfer a machine
Good thing is that atleast Webhorizon and OBhost will allow transfers
I'm interested of that Webhorizon's idler if you dont need that anymore
I was thinking of xferring but set my idlers for cancellation at end of term instead, shutdown the vps. But kept them on uptime robot.
Red is good in this case

yabs?
I sent you a message. I'm really interested in the "Racknerd 3GB KVM VPS Special (11.11 Promo)" VPS in Ashburn, if it's still available.
Free or otherwise, how hard is it to get confirmation from providers upfront about transferring services?
I did miss the part of free giveaway.
But imagine extra efforts provider support needs to handle with multiple requests about requests for transfer... it's lots of wasted time and efforts from providers and receiving parties...
I believe you can transfer after 6 months.
Sorry, Racknerd is taken.
Liteserver is taken as well.
No.
The food is on the table but you are still need to use your hand to eat though.
That is my other option as well. I just don't want the good offer expired, maybe somebody else can use it.
Which one?
Noted.
https://microlxc.net/
All of the listed VPS is very reliable for me.
Great uptime. Racknerd was the most generous Provider so far for me.
Racknerd transfer done to @edrebe
Liteserver transfer has been initiated, waiting from the support to reply back.
No one wants Gullo Ovh SG? It has pretty good IP 139.99.3.x
https://microlxc.net/
ip might be nice but the deal itself it's kinda shitty.
5GB Disk Space
almost unusable in todays market

Accepting submissions for IPv6 less than /64 Hall of Incompetence.
It's so weird that Gullo, MrVM, WebHorizon sell so MANY of these 'almost unusable' systems .... it's almost like people have uses for them.
I have six 256MB RAM containers.
Five are idling.
One is acting as SSH tunnel endpoint, described below.
I have two dedicated servers in someone's basement, but the port forwarding rule on their home router disappears from time to time.
Thus, I made SSH reverse tunnel from these servers, like this:
To access the server, I can connect to port 2222 of the tunnel endpoint machine.
There are two such reverse tunnels.
The primary tunnel comes into a device in my house.
The secondary tunnel goes to a 256MB container in a nearby data center.
This doesn't need dedicated IPv4, barely uses any RAM, and consumes very little traffic being the secondary.
Accepting submissions for IPv6 less than /64 Hall of Incompetence.
I have a half dozen acting as shadowsocks servers in various locations, nebula lighthouses, an internal adguard server, hosting a small webapps/frontends to various things.
Out of curiousity, have you looked into the Nebula network overlay? Some of the NAT traversal and relaying abilities might be of interest to you.
Why compiling third party software if I can achieve the goal with built-in commands?
Accepting submissions for IPv6 less than /64 Hall of Incompetence.
Liteserver has been sucessfully transferred to @gms
I just asked few weeks ago and he said fine, I guess I have to revise the offer.
https://microlxc.net/
;-) As Stallman would rabidly tell you, it's all third party software. And of course it depends on your goal. I believe Nebula to be a more robust and resilient solution but both work obviously.
If its not taken, I'd like to have the "Inception Hosting BF Deal"
Not working because of:
Is this one still available?
Inception Hosting BF Deal
FFS. It's directly above your post.
ahh thanks, so not possible to transfer that
