Which free webpanel do you use?
what i need:
lightweight, fast, responsive panel
Support either Alma/Rocky 8 or Debian 11
Nginx
up to date Php 8.1 with Phpredis
up to date Mariadb 10.7
one-click migration (nice to have)
hence aapanel fit the bill.
any others?
edit:
with the community's suggestion, was able to get hestiacp up and running well with the above (sans one-click migration)
with the really minimalist setup, it might just be faster than aapanel!
I bench YABS 24/7/365 unless it's a leap year.

My friend just switched from DirectAdmin to Fastpanel.
Check their wiki for further details.
I don't use any. Someone I know has a lot of success with HestiaCP, I tried it myself but panels aren't really my thing so it's hard to judge whether it's good or not.
aaPanel all the way baby
I use it with centos 7 since it’s what it’s based off of but it works fine on centos 8 too. Have you tried it before or is it just on your list of ones to try?
im using aapanel since Centos7, then 8 and now debian 11.
always open to explore !

Hestia FTW. They have complete , easy to understand API, perfect for automating things.
have heard multiple mentions about it, does it have nginx+php8.1+php-redis?

I still use virtualmin, I absolutely hate the UI but it's very open to lots of technologies and since it's just for me, I haven't pushed for anything else. From a consumer perspective, I have subscribed in to this thread to see what might be out there
Just realized it mine doesn't have php8, sorry if the post seemed spammy.
RCLOUDSYSTEMS - EmailBackup and EmailSync are powerful email management and migration utilities for an unbeatable price!
It does not fit your requirements as it only supports centos 7 for now but centminmod is a great nginx stack, the dev tuned it to utilize the best of nginx & made it to one of the best out of the box stack. It is a cli based panel though so its attack surface is just your public facing application if you turn off its ftp feature.
Take a look at TinyCP; not sure it'll meet all your criteria though. I'd think 1-click migration is a non-starter, for example.
It wisnae me! A big boy done it and ran away.
NVMe2G for life! until death (the end is nigh)
I switched to https://hestiacp.com great free webpanel. It doesn't have redis out of the box but you can manually install it.
webmin always
aapanel
Ispconfig3. You can strip it down to mere barebones via config upon installation. It has clustering as bonus.
Hestiacp is also nice panel. There is a ton of options for personal use. Depends on os and UI preference.
have been trying out hestiacp, and its really nice, but ran into an issue i wonder if anyone here has had experience with.
my staging was able to work, loads fine but when i try to update it this happens:
just hoping to get pointed in the right direction for me to investigate if its not too complicated :P

most likely a permission issue. afaik that specific tmp folder is not world readable, so redis might really and simply not be able to access it, if it does not run under the right owner. but I am a bit out of loop for the development so I can't say since when or why it is this way. maybe search or write something in the forum over there, right now I sadly have not much time to dive deeper into it...
on a seperate note, it's not advisable to host anything under that admin account itself anymore, but instead create a seperate one with no sudo rights. could well be, that there are also implications here to restrict the admin account in a way to make the whole thing more secure ;-)
thanks for the tip, yeah I've been searching around for permission issues, probably just havent nailed it yet.
and yes im trying out using admin account, probably good to follow the proper procedures to this as well.

@cybertech checkout cloudpanel v2
@Falzo are you HestiaCP's forum moderator, right bro
That's because they don't build PHP for you, you're relying on the system's repository which by default is the one provided by the OS - as an example RHEL 9 provides 8.0 currently. If you want 8.1 you need to add a 3rd-party repo or build it yourself. For RHEL/CentOS/Rocky/Alma/Fedora you can use Remi's one, and for Ubuntu/Debian you can use Ondřej Surý's ones - ppa:ondrej/php for Ubuntu, packages.sury.org/php for Debian.
