Which location would you like to see? (5900X)
Hello,
We’re looking to add a new location for our 5900X lineup. We currently have Dallas, TX, but we want something new.
We’re looking to launch the same $1/GB Ryzen 9 5900X promotion (https://talk.lowendspirit.com/discussion/comment/73522) again but with much faster SSD performance and in another location.
Here are the options for the locations that we plan on adding:
1. Frankfurt, Germany [Not Hetzner]
2. New York, NY
3. Los Angeles, CA
4. London, UK
Let us know what you think would be the best location, and why. We’ll give out free Ryzen 4GB servers (1 month) to a couple random people who choose the location that we end up going with.
Thanks!

LA would be good..
I bench YABS 24/7/365 unless it's a leap year.
If you already have Dallas, then go with Frankfurt.
Two US locations doesn't make much sense.
frankfurt also good....

SINGAPORE
I know it is not in the list, but just wishing
食之无味 弃之可惜 - Too arduous to relish, too wasteful to discard.
+++ for that option,
back to the list.. Frankfurt would be super!

Singapore would require me to get owned hardware there and I don’t feel comfortable shipping a whole server there
In Germany I could at least have someone build it from individual parts…

@FAT32 will be happy to build it for you ;-)
Edit: and I will be happy to sign up

Voting for #2, New York.
Cheap dedis are my drug, and I'm too far gone to turn back.
London, then maybe FRA.
The idea would be Dallas, NY, Los Angeles so east, west, and central are covered.

LA, Dallas (already there), NY, London, Frankfurt, in that order. Actually I don't have much use for Frankfurt or London but I do have some interest in a US one. Frankfurt seems particularly uninteresting because of Hetzner cloud servers if I want to spin up something in DE. I put first Frankfurt ahead of London because my first thought was it would be good to have something near Hetzner where I already have stuff, but then figured I could just launch another Hetzner hourly instance if I wanted something there temporarily.
CPU and disk space are of more interest to me than ram, I would say. How is cpu load looking like in Dallas so far? I won't be a nonstop cpu hog but will occasionally want to run a computation task of perhaps several hours.
Thanks for the feedback
CPU in most of our Dallas nodes only hover at ~50%, so not much!

It would be great to have 2 burstable cores in the 4gb plan in this case!
Los Angeles - good connectivity to a lot of parts of the world.

dnstools.ws - DNS lookups, pings, and traceroutes from 30 locations worldwide.
"A lot of parts of the world" is so much accurate than the "Asia Optimized" bs that providers spit out. I get the worst connectivity/ speeds for LA and I suppose India is still in Asia.

Among suggestions, Singapore location is less of competition, but more of demand, than others.
San Jose is better than Los Angeles

in my desk hahaha
if you already have dallas, maybe europe will be good
A VPS inside a desk would be interesting indeed.

Advin, please, check your control panel license . It says:
