Thanks, I quickly knocked up a new article today which is live now, you may need to hard refresh to see it as the header cache is 1 hour.
the date is there. When there is no date I always have to think all around everything to figure out how much about the content has changed from whenever the article might have been written and whether the content is broken because of the changes.
I love "Let's peek under the hood and see how everything was put together" articles.
The article starts with the elevator pitch a/k/a executive summary, so I can get a look at the forest before becoming lost among the trees.
The article has a clear and simple high level structure: Intro, Server, Runcloud, Grav.
The article includes information about the datacenter where the server is located: "UK/London (Clouvider DC - Telehouse Two North)." I don't know about London, but I've been to Telehouse in Manhattan. I stood inside the little closet where Verizon connects to the backbone internet. I stood next to the locked rack that is NYIIX. Why do providers so rarely post the datacenter where they are and also their Autonomous System Number?
The article discusses the reasons why some choices were made: "I went with Runcloud because I had heard good things about it and really I just wanted to get on with doing. . . ." "One of the big things I like about Grav is that it uses markdown. . . ."
The article anticipates and provides suggestions which resolve common problems: "unless the host is specifically mentioned just pick other. . . ." "I have on a few occasions noticed on faster servers it gets stuck. . . ." "If you want to go very very lightweight you can simply do away with the admin part of Grav. . . ."
The article acknowledges the Ultimate Truth of the Command Line:® "the plugins are super simple to install through the command line"
A few possible improvements:
I don't seem to see the author's name. I can guess who the author is, but why should I have to guess? I suppose because of the author's modesty and humility, which so often seem to accompany truthfulness. But my vote goes for including the author's name unless doing so is dangerous for the author. I've heard it suggested that Shakespeare hid his name because revealing it would have been dangerous. Perhaps because I'm not so familiar, I've never heard it suggested that Shakespeare hid his name due to modesty.
On my Android phone, when I go to lowendspirit.com in Chrome browser, the Categories (Deals and Blog) appear waaay down towards the bottom of the page. None of Categories, Deals, or Blog appear on the hamburger menu. I think maybe somebody mentioned this in a previous comment, but I do not remember.
There are a few blinking ads. For me, even as much as I appreciate the allusion to the 1990s .gif era, intrusive ads strongly suggest to avoid those advertisers and their products.
I am super confident that LES and TLES already are in a great place and that the future will bring even further improvement. Lots of really nice folks here! Thanks to everybody!

Adverts atm are free just filling empty space while the site picks up.
if I start charging for them it will be an incredibly good value for money.
I have not had time to check or figure it out myself yet but I could really do with a simple image rotation script or snippet if anyone knows of any.

Use Google Ad Manager
I have always found that to be a nightmare as an advertiser, which puts me off using it as a publisher.

Weird, I find it easy to use And I'm not a trafficker, I use it to manage some ads on customer pages.

Any chance of adding a section for recent comments kinda like how wordpress has it? Makes interaction more fun.

@AnthonySmith , Can't thank you more.
Just a minor opinion: Can commenter's name be bit more brighter/whiter?
