Best Budget Colocation Options Worldwide for a Low-Power (20-30W) Server with 1Gbps + IPv6 /48 BGP?

Hello! I’m searching for affordable colocation services that meet some specific needs. I only require 1 IPv4 address, but the ability to announce my own IPv6 /48 would be a great bonus. My server is highly efficient, drawing just 20-30W of power, so it won’t demand much electricity. I’d prefer a network setup with either 1Gbps at the 95th percentile on a 10Gbps port or a 1Gbps flat-rate port. The server will be housed in a 1U case, though I’m flexible if a NUC-style case or similar compact form factor is preferred by the provider. My aim is to run an ultra-low-power machine with a fast, reliable network connection capable of handling substantial traffic. Do you have any recommendations? I’m exploring colocation options worldwide for this project.

Is @DataIdeas active here? He does NUC/RPi style colo in Texas. I would definitely check with them.

There has to be someone in NOCIX/KC that would resell 1U for a good price too I'd assume.

And do you agree with putting your server in a garage? Just asking for a friend.

  • @jfreak53 can do it, from what I remember. In US, for a fair price.

I can probably arrange something in vienna or amsterdam if you want.

For the Low power colo in 1U formfactor you are looking at around 30 Euro / Month. However that is with 25TB of Traffic on a 1Gbit/s Link.

If you really want a 1g flat or 1G 95th on a 10G link we can arrange that, however it will be quite a big jump in terms of pricing. (As that would be committed data rate, that you are guaranteed to get then)

    Hy Gedo

we can offer you a Colocation in Oradea, Romania.

1G Flat net line is fine, also BGP for IPV6 is not a problem

I am presuming you have some kind of IPMI/IDRAC/ILO, we can also provide a VPN for that so you do not pay a dedicated IPV4 for it ( if applicable )

here is our looking glass, check it out if it meet's your needs and we can have a chat after that.

    https://lg-ro-or.host-c.com

Server must be in U factor and with rails, otherwise this is a NO-GO for us.

    Cheers!

I would look at my Colocation service on my orderpage.. (https://order.noackhosting.se) we do offer colo 1u for ruffly around 90 dollar high counted on dollar to sek.

I do ONLY. offer 10G ports and 40 G or 100G ports.. Thats all I do have.. (do have a few kopper rj45 1Gbit ports left worst case scenario)

As I include 150Watt per 1u in my price we can count 120 watt and out of that in this case and use that for Bandwidth and in total same cost and you could have a flexible 95e 1gig traffic on a 10gig with offering of peaks and all. This would be a special deal so can "order" but Need to contact me on support and refer to my comment and we can make special for this. Always fun to help out.

And ofcoz you will have bw graphs , in my portal for ports used.
I will include ilo/ipmi/idrac whatever 100meg port with included vpn to reach this ip there(wireguard) for free.

And I could offer your own / 48 dedicated v6 subnet and if you really need it /29 and ofcoz dedicated redundant vlans in infra. Would be the best as its a colo and you could possible wanna expand with more servers and/or ipusage.

PTR can be changed in portal and also we offer free dns-hosting for domains and can be managed by portal in our anycasted infra.

I've used both of these providers for Colo, and they do great.

Trying out LinkSecured now, bit more expensive but they seem to be doing well by me.

We can offer in Kansas City, MO for $55/month with a 1G truly unlimited flat port. NUC form factor is fine if you bring your own shelf, 1U would be preferred.

We can announce your /48 subnet.
