BuyVM alternative/backup provider

Hello,

recently I have come to a conclusion that if BuyVM ever goes away, I am completely and utterly screwed.

I'm looking for a VPS with the following requirements:

  • 1TB storage - HDD or SSD, doesn't matter.
  • Unlimited traffic. 1.5 TB per day must be considered fair use. I can't guarantee there won't be any spikes, so I just can't see an offer with a fixed traffic volume.
  • 1Gbps bandwidth or better.
  • EU/NA geo.
  • 1 GB RAM is enough.
  • Price: $10-ish, $12 max.
  • Similar policies and general Quality of Service as BuyVM.

Hope I'm not asking for miracles here. Thanks in advance!

I've never used Hetzner but I'm concerned about

    • Similar policies and general Quality of Service as BuyVM.

Will Hetzner allow similar "free speech" that BuyVM does?

How about Hetzner + Bulgarian VPN?

The all seeing eye sees everything...

Depends on how air tight the vpn and how much of a douchenozzle Hetzner wants to be

Germany and free speech don’t go together.

If buyvm was to close and put everyone out in the cold, namecrane would pickup from there.

A bit over your budget, but they do 2x storage offer quite often. The RS line will do 3TB/day @2.5Gbps and throttled to 300Mbps, and the VPS lineups do 2TB/[email protected] then 200Mbps

+1 for Netcup. I switched to them from Hetzner about 3 years ago and they are now my ride or die for servers. Excellent provider. The only thing I still host from Hetzner is a Storage Box, because gaht damn is that a great offsite backup solution, 5 TB for $10.

I would suggest my vm https://order.noackhosting.se/cart/&step=3 :) Storage is ontop of current pricing but can be discussed depending on how fast storage needed.

How much is Netcup's "local block storage"? They don't advertise prices publicly. That Hetzner Storage Box is haht!
