I recently received this email from Virpus.
They were a provider that I tried back in 2018-2019. They were so bad that I made a note to never use them at any price.

Has anybody ever heard of Digital-VM.com ?
They seem to have started in 2019.

Dear Valued Customer,

We're writing to inform you about an upcoming change to your account with Virpus.
We're excited to announce that we're moving all customer accounts and services to a new, enhanced portal hosted by our sister company, Digital-VM.com.
This is the change we have been waiting for to provide our clients with Data Centers around the world and with all the latest technologies.

What does this mean for you?

No changes to your services: Rest assured, the services you currently enjoy will remain exactly the same.
There will be no interruption or alteration to your services.

Streamlined billing: The only change you'll experience is with your billing.
Going forward, you'll receive invoices and manage your billing through the new Digital-VM.com portal.
The name on your billing statements will also reflect Digital-VM.com.

What do you need to do?

In the coming days, you will receive a separate email with detailed instructions on how to access the new portal and manage your account.
This email will include your new login credentials and guide you through the transition process. We encourage you to look out for this email and follow the steps provided.

When will this happen?

We'll send a reminder email closer to the date.

We understand you may have questions, and we're here to help.
Please don't hesitate to contact us in your client portal if you require any assistance during this transition.

Thank you for your continued partnership. We appreciate your business and look forward to providing you with an even better experience through our new portal.

Sincerely,

The Virpus Team

Virpus dinosaur of hosting industry. Failed to adapt, to change in dynamic environment. I remember having one of my first vps with 128MB and Debian 4 with them.

    Also, theplanet.com was a thing https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Planet_Internet_Services

  • I used them in the early years. 2010ish with OpenVZ systems ended up cancelling in 2012 when their OVZ system failed and lost everything. and unsubbing from everything, recently I started getting spam from them and I think one of them was they were acquired by CC I cannot find the email about that now, because everything was going to the spam box anyway.

I used The Planet for Intel P3 dedicated servers for two years from 2000 to 2002. Why does that seem like such a long time ago.

I too received that email. A wee snippet from a Ticket that I raised to cancel my service with them. Note the date!

    No it hasn't!
    Service is showing as Pending.
Additionally a late fee has been applied to the invoice - not surprising after all this time.
Get your act together and sort his mess out, please.
Once you've done all that you can remove my account from your system entirely.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your ticket!

All set, this has been completed as requested.
    ...

So they don't honour requests to remove your data either. Good riddance to them. Found via WHT - 'nuff said. :|

CEG picks up old hosts. Nice guys.

Back in 2017 I kept two companies going for a while that they eventually acquired while the place I worked for at the time transitioned into an MSP.

Might have heard of one, they were a dedicated company in Clifton when Clifton had no one in the area. Now it's chock full of fiber.
