Looking for recommendations for HK NAT VPS

Been using a HK NAT VPS from Webhorizon which I have now lapsed as the location will soon be moved out of HK. Looking for recommendations for a replacement. Requirements are low, I use it as a web proxy several times a year to get around geo restrictions. I've looked around but can't seem to find anything comparable so thought I'd ask for suggestions or recommendations. Thanks!

  • Akile is probably your best bet. You can buy their normal plans or check their marketplace and snag a good deal.

  • I had asked @wins but he didn't care~~~

It would be good if the two of you could draft a list + reviews and report back (in case another @wins or @atth comes along).

i had been using khanwebhost OVZ NAT for a while in HK, i believe they were using webhorizon.

It was fine until they shifted the service out to another provider. it was painful to get TUN and wireguard both working, something to do with "NAT rules".

eventually i cancelled and have left with SG and Japan. but you can try to see if HK works.

SG just got IP changed luckily all works well but Japan seems down for now.

    YMMV

    I bench YABS 24/7/365 unless it's a leap year.

khanwebhost is a bit sketchy.i just have 57 hours downtime in SG because the nat vps couldn't make an outbound connection. the support in ticket says they can ssh into my node (yeah, no shit, that's inbound connection to my vps). and insist there's no problem in their side. feels like they're always moving around tbh.

they eventually did fix it tho, probably something fucky is happening due their ip changes and they neglected to test everything to make things are running properly.

now it's getting funny if khanwebhost are using webhorizon, since this provider also have frequent downtime like last year

the only reliable natvps that i ever uses are from natvpsuk, but yeah i don't recall they have HK or even APAC locations.

Fuck this 24/7 internet spew of trivia and celebrity bullshit.

NATVPS.uk i.e. @Micronode has three APAC locations: Seoul, Singapore, Sydney.
However, they are being acquired by YetiNode.
Based on the yeti's behavior on the forum (threatening to spank us, falsifying a date as 1935), we will not buy VPS from the yeti.

Boohoo you don't get to tell the Yeti what he will do or he will spank you. Don't like it or me oh well.

Proxy with NAT is probably a bad idea.

To many users using that single IPv4, its already flagged as "bot" at google and cloudflare, whatnot.
Browsing is not gonna be a nice experience.

You better of spending that 3$ to a hooker and regret the next day.
Either use IPv6 only or get a box with dedicated IPv4.

Akile was selling 200GB HK machines for like 0.50€/m with IPv4.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Depends what you need, my Akile HK is 10€/y with IPv4 and like 1TB traffic.
If its just for VPN usage, as cheap as possible anyways.

Depends, JP seems to be the most stable, SG and HK seem to have monthly outages followed by TW.
Like 5 minutes, however I pay only 0.80€ for my JP and 1.20€ for my Taiwan so.

My Akile has like 800GB of traffic, which 200GB gets burned for the mesh, cuz why not.

I'm sorry I can't help you. I'm a novice in this area, and I don't really understand the low vps market, so I don't want to mislead you. In addition, my usage scenario is different from everyone else's. I use it to forward data from all over the world to my Google Workspace, not to initiate a link from my local pc.
