Introducing myself to the community here
Hello folks I am new to this forum here but I can already sense that I will be here for a while!
I am Kelvin and I am a broke college kid from Singapore. I dabble in mathematics but I am not very good at it πππ. By dabbling I meant I study it but I do not think I am doing a good job at it hehe.
I enjoy messing around with servers and could spend hours meddling with one! An embarrassing fact that I seldom share is that I always have a dream of owning servers and being the next Google or Amazon hahaha. Well a dream is a dream ain't it!
Recently I took my first bold step to colocate a server (it is not even deployed yet) and I am thinking of giving it a go at hosting for people. I am new to all these but I am willing to learn (aka Google) so I am looking to see if anyone here is willing to be my guinea pig and try out my services! I have to figure out the customer dashboard, take care of security and deal with all the virtualization so that will probably take a while before this project is really live. I am not soliciting payments for now but I do hope that one day I am confident enough to actually sell it as a service to people!
I be documenting my journey at this as I think it will be a good way to reflect and capture the entire process! I am thinking of doing tiktok and blogging about it but I have literally 0 cinematic experience so all these will be very new to me!
Well with that said, i hope to engage with the community at LES and maybe know more about all of y'all! Catch y'all in one of the threads!

You know the funny thing is that I actually had dial up internet in my childhood days in 2004 (I was 4 then) and I remember playing with floppy disc and having no idea what they do hahahaha.
I got it in a data center in Charlotte! I will write more details in a blog/video and let you know!

I didn't say I don't like it hahaha I actually really like math but I am not the most mathematically incline. I am pretty decent at it but it is through really really hard work. I haven't really been putting in the time the last few semester due to personal issues so I have been suffering with subpar grades ππ
