This would be the business location according to C1V website and company listings in Italy. It is hard to imagine that block having a basement with servers. Maybe the servers are at the top and connection drops whenever it rains.

At that location surely exists some secret top of the line Tier 3 datacenter. Disregard the clothing on the balconies, these are not apartments as they seem, but actually these are specially crafted microfibre textiles used as filters in datacenter. Disregard the sport club too, that is actually used by hundreds of employees to relax after work in datacenter. Disregard the other blocks, as these are not populated with servers yet, even though filters are waiting to be used as one can easily notice.

You have to go down that "europaradise" sign and then at the right, there's a bar a gym and then a few garages and that's where the DC is.
I've taken pics and vids but got no hosting to put them on rn so just take my word for it i guess

@foxone: that's fantastic! I hosted Calin's Journey on ponyhost.xyz, if your videos and pics are less than 5 GB I can host everything ! Gonna make some nice thumbs / preview page for that!
Guuuuuuuuuuuuuys guess what?
You will never guess!
Maintenance to power infrastructure.
On top of that it's routine maintenance scheduled to start TODAY at 15:00 while e-mail was sent 13:30.
You know, routine maintenance with 1.5h info in advance.
Also this routine maintenance is for specifically installing a new UPS to replace UPS2 and upgrading the electrical panel.

In defense of C1V: the "upgrading electrical panel" and "installing new UPS" have happened so many times the last half year that you can say it's "routine".
In reply to the "routine" remark: it's also almost always so that if Luca/AI says "no downtime is expected" that you'll get downtime. That's also part of the routine.
At this point I believe the guy has a subscription for a new UPS every week. The business is a huge success, as it keeps burning these UPS devices. The Eco-Addon is highly important to recycle all the used UPS.

Nothing says eco friendly then shutting down the server to save power!

Maybe he should sell cold storage for backups, instead of VPS. Cold storage would save way more power as it would start just when needed.

Maybe he should just close down this business. That would be the most eco friendly thing he can do.

Downtime: 1 hr
Although we do not expect any downtime for all redundant servers, if you have a server with a single power source you may experience a reboot.
Quick, someone tell AI that reboot does not last one hour.
The fun part is that my VPS wasn't down, just unreachable. So basically, when the cause is mismanagement, lack of knowledge, Tier 0 datacenter, mom using the hover, power - something critical in the infrastructure is not on redundant power... didn't expect that (sarcasm).
Ofcourse communication about this 1+ hour downtime is as professional and prompt as expected from a child with a garage as datacenter: non-existent.
Another day, another urgent emergency priority maintenance announcement
Dear Valued Customer,
We hope this message finds you well. We're reaching out with an important update regarding our recent power infrastructure maintenance.
Maintenance Rescheduling
Our scheduled maintenance on Saturday, August 3, 2024, did not fully accomplish our objectives. To ensure the completion of this critical work, we have scheduled an additional maintenance session:
Date: Wednesday, August 7, 2024
Time: 09:00 CEST to approximately 18:00 CEST
Scope of Work During this maintenance window, we will:
Complete the installation of a new Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to replace UPS2
Upgrade our cooling infrastructure:
Installing a larger cooling system to accommodate future data center expansions
Note: This upgrade will mantain our current 2N redundancy standard
Impact on Your Services
Servers with redundant power sources: No anticipated downtime
Servers with a single power source: May experience a brief reboot
Our Commitment to You
We recognize that this additional maintenance may cause inconvenience, and we sincerely apologize for any service disruptions. Please be assured that our team is dedicated to completing these crucial upgrades efficiently. These improvements are essential for enhancing the long-term reliability and performance of our infrastructure, directly benefiting your services.

Was already surprised that I didn't encounter downtime on Wednesday, but C1V didn't disappoint. Within a couple of days (i.e. today) again over 1 hour of downtime and a rebooted VPS...

The most eco-friendly idling experience I've ever had. Goes down a few hours or days every now and then to save energy 🍃
Eco-Addon usually 25eur! You get it for free as a special gift

hey, shit can be eco too!
I bench YABS 24/7/365 unless it's a leap year.

That is always eco. Trees and plants love it.

Its bio degradable and is beneficial for the environment, which is the literal definition of "eco friendly".

Did you just assume clowns are often invited within a secured facility to entertain the workers managing the servers?
