American multinational company acquires three data centers in the Philippines

Equinix, Inc. is an American multinational company that specializes in Internet connection and data centers.

The colo giant this week announced its planned entry into the Philippines with the purchase of three facilities from Total Information Management, a local technology solutions provider.

Terms of the deal were not shared. The deal comprises three carrier-neutral and interconnection-rich data centers with more than 1,000 cabinets of capacity and land for further expansion. Further details or specifications weren’t provided, but Total Information Management’s website says it has data centers in Carmona, Cavite, and Makati.

Jeremy Deutsch, president of Asia-Pacific, Equinix said:
"We are thrilled to announce our expansion into the Philippines, a vibrant and rapidly expanding digital economy that presents immense opportunities for our valued customers and partners. This strategic acquisition, combined with our recent expansions in Malaysia and Indonesia, as well as the awarded data center capacity in Singapore, will greatly enhance our footprint in the region.”

In Asia-Pacific, Equinix currently operates 56 data centers in 14 metros across Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore, including the recently opened data centers in Johor (JH1) and Kuala Lumpur (KL1) in Malaysia.

Yup, that site looks quite empty.

Still, this forum post is legit industry news and is posted in the appropriate section.

    Edit:
Almost forgot to post the official acquisition comment:

According to Marx, capital has the tendency for concentration and centralization in the hands of the richest capitalists.

It always ends in the ruin of many small capitalists, whose capitals partly pass into the hands of their conquerors, partly vanish.

Why is this post allowed and my very informative post about Datacenter Industry in Phillipines deleted?
Just because the OP is a web host?
Very unfair ... I call this double standards.
I used to be a content writer/ contributor fur fact's sake.

Here's hoping. It's regrettable that they've chosen to start their time here with such blatant attempts to game the system, instead of engaging meaningfully and building up their (very modest) post requirements that way.

Their opening offer better be super low end

Oh! Care to share? I thought recently it'd be nice if such a thing existed.

    It's pronounced hacker.

  • This post is kinda on point - the only thing that pisses me off is American multinational company in title rather than just fucking Equinix that everyone knows.

I was like: okey, OP is just RSS-copy-paste human-bot... checked his linked sources and there is no statement like that anywhere plus the headers in those sources are straight forward and mention Equinix.

My guy used ChatGPT to paraphrase title and made it worse.

Unfortunately, I had to notice this script was for the OGF only.

It can even be considered as incorrect citing because it's very, very close to the original.
