Small VPS based in Canada

I am looking for a hoster that offers VPS in Canada. The hoster must be legally based in Canada, and use/run a data center within the country. 1 CPU/1 GB RAM/20 GB disc would be fine for starters. Pricing should be reasonable.

So far I found Globo.Tech, which ticks a lot of the boxes. But despite running OpenStack, the choice of OSs is very limited. Ideally, I'd like to be able to install/upload my choice of OS.

Any hints greatly appreciated.

    I agree with localhost.

They are / they do run and the network speed is great even from the outside (I'm a client for more than 1.5 years).

Although their plans are larger than 1 CPU / 1 GB. Here's the smallest ones (IIRC):

    • NVME 1 (ref) - 2 C / 3 GB (try CANADA_WILDBEAST_10 code for this one)
    • NVME 2 (ref) - 4 C / 4 GB
    • AMD EPYC (ref) - 2 C / 4 GB

Storage varies from 2x to 12x of what you're after.
The offers above are from different product groups, check the rest yourself in the "Categories" section.

Also try applying either CANADA_VDS_35 or CANADA_WILDBEAST_10 codes on the "Checkout" (second page in cart) to get even lower price. These codes are time-limited.

Man, that VDS is tempting. Stop. Don't need 8GB RAM, nor >50GB storage. I'm always skint!

  • Pricing is very reasonable at currently 1 CPU / 1 GB / whopping 2 TB @ 10 USD / month, but that is way larger than I would ever need for this machine.

Thanks, that's more of what I am looking for, but the whole website does not seem to have any information as to who is actually running that company, where they are legally based, where the office is located etc. Also no luck at a quick web search.

Globo.Tech does not seem to look so bad after all.
