Run YABS in each of our locations - Get free resources for a year!
It's been a while since we've done a YABS for each of our locations and we've since added some new locations. The first person to run YABS in each of our locations and post the output receives a free 512mb/20gb resource for a year.
Terms:
Must cover all locations
All tests must be ran (geekbench can be skipped)
Instances must have at least 256MB RAM and 10GB disk.
Only the first person to cover all locations will be awarded the resources.
Which location should we add next?

Hint: Requirements can't be fulfilled because Romania is down.
Also poll is borked. Japan sounds nice, but not sure about the possible higher abuse rates there.
Romania can be skipped for now. One day it might become stable.
Is it a new way to spam ?

F. Battiato ---
Considering we’re not taking on new clients currently I’m not sure what we’d gain from “spamming”. I’m building out a new landing page which will display a YABS for each location.
Getting a client to provide these not only saves me a bunch of time (hence why they are rewarded service credits) it also makes the results of the benchmarks completely none biased.
I honestly don't see the difference between giving away resources and doubling bandwidth, but I'll leave it to the moderators
Unfortunately (in my opinion) LES has given itself a regulation that is a little too restrictive

F. Battiato ---
I’m asking for one client to run a benchmark in return for some credit. It’s not like I’m asking everyone to post their individual benchmarks or order numbers etc. pretty sure I’m not breaking any rules here but I’m happy for the mods to weigh in if they believe otherwise.

I seen that! 2 minutes in it.
DM me your your Micronode account and I’ll get you some credits.
@hlolve I’ll also need you to do the same!
Thanks both, appreciate it!
Do you want me to add it back? have it copy pasted
You may as well! 🙂
Nice to see LES changing the rules but then not enforcing them...
"How miserable life is in the abuses of power..."
F. Battiato ---
you're ridiculous
I think it’s time for you to just leave it.
My understanding is that the rules were changed to stop sales posts from being constantly bumped.
1) This isn’t a sales thread.
2) I’m not encouraging spam.
Maybe @bikegremlin or @FrankZ can weigh in here but if you’d like to discuss this further I’d kindly request that you take it to the rules thread rather than trying to derail things.
to me the situation seems ridiculous, new rules but not applied, it was better to change nothing then
"How miserable life is in the abuses of power..."
F. Battiato ---
I don´t see any spam, and could be useful information for other users or possible new customers. Also takes considerable time to make all these benchmark
You have been asked to write a post to get benefits, is exactly against the new rules (I didn't make them...)
"How miserable life is in the abuses of power..."
F. Battiato ---
Yes, I wrote a post, and the rule you mention is about spam.
@natvps_uk doesn't have time to do YABS, but he has time to give you credit, and at the same time he gains visibility from this thread... for me is spam
otherwise you could have posted them along with all the others
"How miserable life is in the abuses of power..."
F. Battiato ---
It's good you have an opinion and you've stated it. Nobody else currently agrees with you and you're unwilling to even try to see their side. Time to let it go.
@carlin0 is probably right in that it's a Good Idea (tm) to close this thread though lest we wind up with a bunch of the users who can't be bothered to read trying to get free resources.
There's no issues with this thread since it is not encouraging spam.
Head Janitor @ LES • About • Rules • Support
The number of people who disagree doesn't make an argument invalid - otherwise, the Earth would "still be flat" (comprehensive, but not complete list of logical fallacies).
Having said that:
I see @carlin0's point.
However, it makes no sense to make rules for every single caveat - that never stops shady stuff (as we can see in most judical systems worldwide). It's better to have a "don't be a dick" policy enforced by ethical folks. That happens to be the case here (I'm the only exception because I do take bribes ).
So, if this ends up being abused or derailled, we will see how to best deal with it. So far so good.

You are of course correct. However, if you're attempting a persuasive argument it's a good indicator of your success level.
Then you're a better man than I.
Thanks this is great! Finland was retired the back end of last year, I see you’ve already deleted your migrated instance so I can’t investigate why it was down.
